I honestly didn't think it was going to work as well as it did. This thing is amazing. I put it to the test, I bought a car and the seats were dirty as can be. This thing left my seats looking new. What really helped was the steam. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it.

Therefore, dog paws and kids' feet are constantly tracking black oily tar fragments into the rugs and on the couch. It's nearly impossible to clean -- but WOW -- I am SO impressed with how this steam cleaner lifted those nasty particles up and away. I received this cleaner as part of a Stellar Panel Review testing group. Thrilled at the results. Truly, I've been frustrated trying to find a solution to the tar messes. Every other cleaning method I have tried has left a dull oil-like stain. This little hydro cleaner is really impressive, the way it uses heat to remove the baked in tarballs.

Steam is actually hotter than boiling water, hence the reason it actually chemically separates and goes from a liquid to a gas form. In any case, it's supposed to be hot. Whatever this thing is doing the "steam" is cold and whatever cleaning properties bissell markets it having, it cannot possess. It otherwise functions like their other spot cleaners where you honestly have to massively pretreat old stains and vacuum them several times. Their steam setting is just a gimmick.

I used it on both a high traffic area rug in our house as well as our couch cushions. We have 3 young children and 3 cats so there is no shortage of messes or petdander and fur lingering around here. On the area rug, it did not perform quite as powerfully as I expected it to. This may be due to the low and tight pile of the rug, im not so sure. But more so, it is very uncomfortable as you have to be on your hands and knees, the whole time while working on the floor or a rug - not very ideal. If they could come up with an attachment that would allow you to use it while standing that would make a world of difference for this machine. On our upholstery however, big difference!!! It was so satisfying to watch that nasty, yellowish brown water get pulled up and out of the cushions with every stroke of the machine. This could be done while sitting on the couch, or bending over, nowhere near as uncomfortable as being on your hands and knees. The quality and design of the machine are beautiful, come with easy to understand directions, and easily assemble and disassemble to clean so I was very satisfied in that department. I would definitely recommend this machine for upholstery cleaning. Rugs and floors not so much.

This Little Green Hydrosteam Pet carpet cleaner has been a great addition to my cleaning arsenal. It's very portable (though not the most lightweight) and has different modes depending on the type of cleaning you want to do. I've used it to clean dirt and stains from carpet and drapery, build-up in shower grout, and even my kids' shoes! And I've been impressed with the results every single time. It did take me a bit of time to understand the different settings and how to properly clean the machine after use. It's quite intuitive once you get it, but I did struggle at first with understanding how to detach and reattach the different compartments. It also is quite noisy, despite its small size, so don't expect to use this during nap time. All in all, this is a great little carpet cleaner than I anticipate using regularly in the future. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 4 cats and a baby, a mid pile carpet on the upstairs, and lots of low pile ruggable rugs. I bought this hoping the added steam would really do well with the pet messes (1 cat pees outside of her litter box, 4 cats with hairballs or throw up.) The unit is fairly quiet, the suction is fine, not amazing but not bad, definitely leaves carpet damp compared to the upright that we have (Bissell green machine), but I spent the extra hoping the steam would also sanitize. Let's just say I can place my hand within an inch of the steam nozzle and it's luke warm at best. Yes it sounds and looks like steam, but it's more a fine mist of Luke warm water. Considering the hydro steam is the top of the line model from Bissell, it's a pretty big disappointment. I tried 3 other consumer portable units, non of them lived up to their steam promises so I'm going to say it's an effective marketing gimmick. Other than that all of the units I tried have similar performance on spot cleaning from normal carpet to the ruggable rugs. So save yourself the money and get any of the others and just preheat the sink before filling the tank. The rest of the unit workers well. I like how easy it is to use and clean. The hose unfortunately will hold residual liquid after cleaning. It folds up nicely and is really compact so I like that. The handle quality is junk, the unit feels well built though. I'll keep it, I'll use it, but no, I do not recommend it. It also makes this fairly annoying chirp squeak every 20 seconds of use that started after the second time using it.

I have had a stain on my living room area rug for over a year where our dog threw up and nothing has gotten it out. The Little Green HydroSteam Pet got it out in just a few minutes. I couldn't believe it! I also used it to clean a recliner that hasn't been cleaned in years and now it's almost like new. I love how easy the set up was and all the instructions were super simple and straightforward. It's light and portable but has a fantastically long hose, which means I didn't have to pick up and move it constantly while I was using it. I like the different settings with steam and solution, and the attachments helped with different areas of the house. It's embarrassingly easy to fill and empty the tanks, and it's both gross and satisfying to see how dirty the water becomes after it's sucked up into the machine. I would absolutely recommend this. I have 3 kids and a large dog and I feel confident this machine will be worth its weight in gold. I only wish there was an unscented solution but I got over that pretty fast! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this portable carpet cleaner, it has been an amazing addition to my house. It was super easy to setup and figure out how to use. My first item I tackled was an ottoman we've had in my son's room for three years. There was a mysterious stain I wasn't sure how I was going to get out, but the Little Green HydroSteam Pet did the trick! In like five minutes! I've also tackled throw pillows that are spot clean only, chairs, and more. Of course my dog threw up on my brand new rug - I immediately went to get the cleaner and the throw up was gone - and the smell! My office is in an exterior building, so it was so handy to be able to carry this to my office to clean up quickly. I only wish it had a bigger adapter for a large area rug. And somewhere to store the adapters that are not attached to the hose.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this steam cleaner a few times a week since I got it and I have loved it. It is perfect for spills on tile and carpet. I have a Newfoundland dog and 3 small kids and somehow no one has had any potty accidents since I got the cleaner, but I imagine it will be great for that too. We have had another small BISSELL portable carpet cleaner since we got our dog 6.5 years ago, so I was so excited to upgrade and I received the Little Green as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We have used it on couches, rugs, carpet and in the bathroom on the tile around the toilet. It has worked wonderfully on all of those surfaces. There are no remnants of mess and it is pretty quick to clean small areas. I wouldn't recommend it for cleaning carpet or rugs as it is really meant for cleaning messes and cleaning a large area takes too long. The biggest things it works well for are couches and car interiors. I'm not stressed about messes because of this little machine. It was intuitive to set up and isn't intimidating to learn or use. 10/10 for me.
