Member's Mark Sharp Cheddar Cheese Block (2 lbs.)

Member's Mark Sharp Cheddar Cheese Block (2 lbs.) Tastes like a ccross between Kraft's Velveeta cheese and Kraft sliced American Cheese. The texture and tastes are nothing like cheddar cheese, It tastes awful! I tasted it first and when my husband got home I gave him a slice and he said it tastes like American cheese. We will never buy it again because it is not Sharp Cheddar Cheese!

Low Quality

I tried this cheese as a way to save a few cents compared to my usual purchase that is roughly $0.50 higher per pound. This cheese was much softer than I was expecting and nearly flavorless. Needless to say, I will be going back to my tried and true brand.

Yes it is less expensive..

Member's Mark chunk cheese is around 40% less expensive than Tillamook, so you save some coin. You also give up quality and flavor. I am frugal, but not so frugal I am willing to give up my Tillamook. I have to choke this cheese down. No thanks.

poor quality control

I like the taste of the cheese. It is good for melting into things, not necessarily for eating straight like a fine cheese, like Cabot or Tillamook. But, vacuum sealing is supposed to be tight. If it is tight, the cheese will last for 6 to 9 months in the refrigerator. Mine came sealed, but loose, so I need to eat it quicker. It's frustrating that they take advantage of the customer's ignorance, like that.

shreds beautifully and super tasty!

Every time we bring this shredded to family dinner, someone always says "this tastes like restaurant shredded cheese". I dont know what that means but i think its because it shreds without crumbling and its just really delicious. We stopped buying bagged shredded cheese a while ago because of all the fillers and anti caking stuff they put in it and once we found this item we never looked back. Fabulous product

Cheddar that will Ruin You For all other Brands

I discovered a top-notch cheddar cheese at Sam's Club in the Chef-Mate brand several years ago. When it disappeared I panicked, but I suspect it carried on as the Member's Mark brand because this is comparable (no discernible change in texture/taste). What I like about this Member's Mark Sharp Cheddar Cheese is that it does not turn into the BP Deepwater Horizon when you melt it. At the same time, it isn't so dry that it crumbles like some lesser quality cheddar cheeses. It melts really well — smooth not gritty. Cheddar cheese that doesn't melt well is a problem with many other grocery store brand cheeses these days, which is a deal breaker for those of us who love a good grilled cheese sandwich. This cheese will make you unwilling to compromise on the likes of Land 'O Lakes or Tillamook. This cheese is so good that it justifies the cost of the membership. Yes, it's that good.

Not so Sharp Cheddar

VERY little flavor. Definitely not sharp, more like very mild.

tasty but crumbly

The cheese tastes great but when you go to slice it w/ an electric slicer it crumbles like crazy and only about 2/3 of it turns into decent slices. and, they have to be thick slices or they will for sure crumble
