Horrible Unit

I initially purchase this unit on November 13, 2003 and it came broken in multiple pieces. It took 3 weeks December 3rd before I got a replacement and that unit was not broken but would not cut on and when I tried to cut it on the breaker tripped everything in that room. I hired an electrican thinking it was my wiring and he plugged it in a room with nothing plugged up and it still tripped the breaker and would not come on. I requested my Sam's card to be credited and I will not order a 3rd replacement. It is not December 18th and no one has contacted me to pick this unit up and it's taking up space in my bedroom for no functional reason.

2 attempts--both broken

I bought this fireplace as a Christmas present for my daughter on Black Friday. The first one arrive completely destroyed in the box. The heater worked fine, but the fake wood was broken in numerous places--completely broken and not able to be repaired. When I called to get a refund, the customer service representative was really nice and helpful. She scheduled someone to come pick up the broken unit and reordered a replacement. I was pleased and believed that the problem was with the shipping company. The second fireplace arrived packaged much better and the "wood" looked great. The lack of display instructions in the box and the better packaging made me realize that the first one had been a display model that someone at Sams had just thrown back into the box without the packaging materials. That's why it was destroyed in shipping. Unfortunately, the second fireplace wouldn't heat properly. It would turn on and then within about 30 seconds, shut off with the flashing error code "88." If I could have somehow combined the working heater in the first attempt with the intact cabinet in the second attempt, I would have been very happy with the purchase. Since that wasn't possible, I cut my losses and got a refund.

Terrible service Sam's Club

After waiting 10 hours for delivery, the item showed up in pieces. Some pieces were obviously damaged and there was no apparent damage to the box. It appears to have been boxed that way. After over an hour on the phone with customer service a supervisor had the audacity to offer me a $15 gift card for my wasted time.

Horrible Delivery Service

Beautiful piece of furniture but Sams uses a horrible delivery company. No phone call a promised before delivery. Box was delivered to my driveway behind a parked car. No one rung the doorbell to let us know that they were outside and the fact the this 200lb box was just placed behind the car is not acceptable. In the email from Sams it states not to accept the box if it was damaged but since I didn’t know it was out there we have no choice but to accept it. Very poor choice of Delivery Service ‘EFW’ Why would you delivery a 200lbs furniture piece to the driveway!

Could cause fire

I loved this when we got it but could have lost my house because of it. Don't know why it happened but the fireplace burnt up a surge protector and the cord. Thought this was just a onetime thing but my daughter has the same one and just called to tell me it did the same to her but also burnt the outlet in the wall. This put my daughter and two grandsons in danger. Will show pictures if I can

This is the one you’ve been looking for!

We love this unit! I’ve looked multiple times for a fireplace cabinet like this but never found one that I thought was right until I found this one. It seems to be more solid wood than MDF, which I try to stay away from. The fact it comes fully assembled gives another clue of the craftsmanship and quality. The doors are even soft close hinges! You may pay less for others but to get this kind of quality, it’s a bargain. The side cabinets are very roomy and deep. We have a PlayStation 5 inside one as well as other items. You get to pick where you put the shelves so that’s a nice feature. Our Sony receiver, Bluetooth player, cable box and Switch dock all fit in the center shelf. The fireplace/heater is amazing. We don’t have a real fireplace in our home so getting to turn this on and enjoy the flames is so very soothing. The fireplace cabinet is not just a screen like I thought it would be. It’s a real insert with a metal caged front and is probably 6-8 inches deep. I was truly very happily surprised! The only thing I wish it had was the crackling sound of a real fire. Maybe they will come out with that next. I highly recommend this if you need a nice cabinet with the added plus of a fireplace. So far so good for us!
