[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're totally pleased with our new washer! For starters, it looks AMAZING. The Graphite Steel finish is beautiful. It looks so good in our laundry room. The instructions were easy to understand and so there was no problem getting the washer up and running. Leveling it took a little effort, but there was a helpful tool included that made it easier. The signal you hear at the end of a cycle was originally too loud for our preference, since our toddler takes naps in the room next to the laundry room. But we quickly found out how to lower the volume and now it's perfect. We've found that our clothes are getting cleaner with this washer than with our previous unit. And it seems like there's less wear-and-tear taking place. Those things alone make the WM5500HVA worth the investment, since we're getting better life and performance out of our whole family's clothes. Also, the WM5500HVA is way quieter than our previous washer. It runs smooth and we don't even need to keep the laundry room door closed like we used to, which it nice because it helps keep the space more ventilated. Every so often, there's a spin cycle that louder than normal. But that's probably just a quirk due to what clothing items are in the load, and doesn't seem to be a problem at all. We're really excited about this washer and are so glad we got it!

I love washing with this new washing machine. It is quiet with vibration, has lots of washing options and does an amazing job. We were limited to the size because of the doorway and this one fit the bill. I also love the front loader, it is my first and so much better than the top loader.

It may be an excellent product for those who do not have dogs or small children and whose clothes are not dirty or have any stains. Clothes with dog hair, for example, or stains are not cleaned properly. They come out of the machine with a lot of hair and many dirt marks, even on the heavy cleaning cycle. LG only gives 48 hours to request a return of the product and this is not enough time to test the product, so unfortunately I was not able to return it.

It's been a much steeper learning curve from my previous 21-year old front load washer than I expected. I like the WiFi enabled features very much, especially the notification on the status of the machine. It's taking some time to learn which cycles to use for the types of loads I wash most often, and how to modify them for my preferences. I find it a little tedious to have to use an online user manual for information I would expect to find in the printed manual, but it's not awful. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase!

I was bit wondering if it would be confusing to use technologically advanced features and settings, but it was easy as it can be. The washer is quiet and smooth and performs as advertised. We are retired and may never utilize it to its full potential but, so far it is very satisfactory. One feature we love is the AI wash cycle as it seems to do a great job of detecting how many clothes and what type. It has also stayed mildew-free (so far) by (1) drying it out after usage and (2) running the tub wash when the app tells us to, which is a great reminder. It’s also pretty amazing to have an alert on your phone when the wash cycle is done (

After 18 years, our old LG Washer needed to be replaced. We chose the WM5500HVA model based on outstanding reviews, technological advances, and sleek, beautiful design. The washer is extremely quiet, energy efficient, has many washing options with a very easy to use menu, and is beautiful and sleek in design. We highly recommend LG if you are needing to replace your washer.

While this washer might be great the installation was a joke - guys show up, drop it off in my garage, tell me someone else is coming to install and leave. No one ever showed up to install - what a joke. What does LG do when I tell them this - nothing at all - no one cares anymore - find a local company that cares and don't buy LG.
