There are a wide variety of cycles that are not on a normal machine and I use several of them frequently. The only problem I’ve had is that the detergent drawer is a little tricky to get back in ( I have arthritis in my hands so its not easy) I gave it 5 stars even with that difficulty as the machine is remarkable otherwise.

I have had water hammering issues since I bought this machine. Every time water goes in and out of the machine there is a loud banging noise that you can hear to floors above and the hose and pipes shake quite a bit. I have contacted LG and they said it is not their problem and I need to buy a water hammer arrestor for both lines. As you can see by the pictures, I have done that and it does not help at all. The problem appears to be that the valve responsible for opening and shutting the water creates too much pressure. Obviously the valve is faulty and no one from LG has fixed this yet. I’m afraid that my pipes will eventually burst from all the shaking.

I have been using our new washer and dryer set for about a month now and I couldnt be happier. My favorite feature is the AI and app integration so I can figure out what's going on without schlepping to the basement every time. I also love the height of the machines (we keep them side by side) as it is perfect for folding laundry and our future second floor laundry room fantasy of a built over island for getting through clean clothes. I wouldnt enjoy the vanity of efficiency and ergonomics just mentioned if I had problems otherwise. Certainly, everything seems to work as it should incredibly well and my clothes are super clean. We took great care in our installation and I tend to wipe them off regularly and make sure they are balanced/ whatever I need to do to ensure the longevity and remove culpability of any technical or mechanical errors. So far so good!

I got a new washer and dryer. This is a beautiful unit. Quiet. The AI feature is extremely helpful I am Happy with my purchase. The only thing I do not like is the pedestal. I did not order it because it is 14-inch high, which will raise the machine above light switch. I wish they would make a lesser height pedestal also.

After 18 years, our old LG Washer needed to be replaced. We chose the WM5500HVA model based on outstanding reviews, technological advances, and sleek, beautiful design. The washer is extremely quiet, energy efficient, has many washing options with a very easy to use menu, and is beautiful and sleek in design. We highly recommend LG if you are needing to replace your washer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're totally pleased with our new washer! For starters, it looks AMAZING. The Graphite Steel finish is beautiful. It looks so good in our laundry room. The instructions were easy to understand and so there was no problem getting the washer up and running. Leveling it took a little effort, but there was a helpful tool included that made it easier. The signal you hear at the end of a cycle was originally too loud for our preference, since our toddler takes naps in the room next to the laundry room. But we quickly found out how to lower the volume and now it's perfect. We've found that our clothes are getting cleaner with this washer than with our previous unit. And it seems like there's less wear-and-tear taking place. Those things alone make the WM5500HVA worth the investment, since we're getting better life and performance out of our whole family's clothes. Also, the WM5500HVA is way quieter than our previous washer. It runs smooth and we don't even need to keep the laundry room door closed like we used to, which it nice because it helps keep the space more ventilated. Every so often, there's a spin cycle that louder than normal. But that's probably just a quirk due to what clothing items are in the load, and doesn't seem to be a problem at all. We're really excited about this washer and are so glad we got it!

While this washer might be great the installation was a joke - guys show up, drop it off in my garage, tell me someone else is coming to install and leave. No one ever showed up to install - what a joke. What does LG do when I tell them this - nothing at all - no one cares anymore - find a local company that cares and don't buy LG.
