I was stuck in the dark ages and was still using a mops and bucket, until my friend showed me her steam mop. Hers was a different brand but I still liked it as it made the whole chore of getting the floors clean way faster. The only issue I had with hers was that it was so very very very heavy and it took what seemed like forever to heat up. So after some light research I decided to purchase the Bissell 1940 Power Fresh steam mop. First of all, it is not as heavy as the other unnamed brand, second it does not take very long at all to heat up and be ready for use. It also features a lengthy cord and detachable water tank. I am so very happy with this purchase! I even purchased extra floor mops pads and fresh scent discs! I use it every week for bathroom, kitchen and entry ways! The only thing that I wish could be better would be the ability to easily maneuver it behind the toilet, the head is just ever so slightly to large. TL:DR I would buy this again and again, very satisfied with the purchase

I first used it on my bath room that over a number years had become increasingly dirty; I could not remove it with ordinary floor cleaner with and ordinary mop. The Bissell mop achieved what I could not and now my floor is really clean. The vinyl flooring looks just it did when it was installed. My next floor cleaning project with the Bissell mop is my kitchen floor. The years have also left down deep dirt & grime. I predict that it will do the same fantastic job that it did in my bathroom.

I just used mine for the first time. Liked the ease of setting up and starting it up the first time. However, I turned it off for a few minutes while I vacuumed another spot before steaming. When I picked up the mop it left lime on the grout and tile that now won't come up. It looks terrible. I've tried everything to get it up and it won't come up. Ideas?

This so call steam mop took the shine off of my hardwood floors. This is the "WORST". When I would try and move it across the floor, it wouldn't move. It was so hard to do so. What a waste of money. I will probably throw it out or give it away. You know this mop is no good.

This is my second Power Fresh Steam Mop the first mop worked well, but quit working after 6-7 uses. The reason was I didn't read that you could not use vinegar in the cleaning water. I am using distilled water only in this mop and so far it is working great. I love the mop that is why I ordered the second one I hope it keeps working and doesn't let me down. It really does clean well, I love it.

Loved my steam mop - I have all hardwood and tile in my house and could always trust that it would get the job done, but after a year it has become temperamental - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have not found anything else on the market like it for the money. I am going to call about the two year warranty and hopefully have it serviced at no cost to me - I will write an additional review based on the type of service that I get on the warranty.

I love to buy stuff to clean with, specially when it makes my Life easier and the Steam Mop does it. It is really light weight and easy to handle. It cleaned my kitchen floors really good. I have two dogs and one husband and there all bring enough dirt in the house. So I take the Steam Mop and in a couple of minutes it is clean again. Thanks Bissell.

I have purchased TWO of these machines and within 4 months both machines stopped sending out steam and just poured hot water out of the back! I used only distilled water and used the machine on my tile floor. I only used the first one for 5 months and the second one for 4 months. Horrible quality and I will never purchase another Bissell product. Save yourself some money and DO NOT BUY ONE!

When I bought this, I was a little skeptical about it, but it far exceeded my expectations! It is very fast and very easy to use. The floors shine after using, and if you use the "smelly" stuff your house smells great! I really like using the fragrance discs. And it can also convert to a carpet cleaner too, so that's a plus in my eyes.

I bought this after hurricane Sandy flooded our downstairs with 3 feet of dirty water. We have ceramic tile in that room and this steam mop got up all the remaining dirt. We had swept and mopped all during the cleanup. But the pad was black when I got done and the floor looks really clean now. I also used it on my upstairs rooms which have ceramic tiles and hardwood floors. They also were pretty dirty from the dirt and dust of the cleanup. I am happy to say they are cleaner than they ever have been and it is easy to do quick touch ups with this steamer. It makes the floors shine!
