I really liked this vacuum and was using the wand to clean the edges along the wall when I noticed smoke coming out of the vacuum. I turned it off and found that it had sucked up a cat toy. I guess while using the want the roller was still working. I don't even know when or how long the toy had been there since it was in an upright position and I didn't see the toy while I was vacuuming. In any case, the roller doesn't work anymore.

As a previous reviewer stated about the vacuum smoking, this also happened to me. I just purchased the vacuum I think 12/30. I’ve used it 3 times. It works great, suction is better than Shark. However, when I was using the attachment the base sucked up a shirt and the vacuum began smoking like crazy. I didn’t realize it sucked the shirt up because I was using the attachment and then smelled “fire” and the fumes OMG. Horrible. I’m torn on exchanging it because I really loved how well it worked, but it makes me nervous that this can happen just because something becomes stuck. The fumes are unbearable.

I purchased the vacuum at Sam’s Club for a great price. The features look amazing, but made with cheap plastic. On my first use, I vacuumed my entry rug and the roller stopped spinning. I pushed through and finished vacuuming my front room carpet without the east of a walk behind vacuum (the brush roller would not spin) That same day, my son accidentally sucked up a sock through the hose and didn’t tell me. On the next use, the vacuum began to smoke like it was about to catch fire! After thing settled, and the sock was removed from the canister, I noticed the roller brush still didn’t spin. I discovered that the belt had snapped - after that first use (maybe within the first 5 minutes of being out of the Box!). While the suction is good, I would definitely not recommend this vacuum. For the reasons that 1. the belt broke while using the vacuum appropriately, and 2. it started to smoke when an item was sucked up via the hose. Now, I’ve sucked up Sammy socks while cleaning under the couch with the vacuum hose and this has never happened with any other brand. Save your money and don’t buy! Definitely returning this!

I have used this vacuum a handful of times. The suction is great and I love the Turbobrush. HOWEVER, the other day I was using the extension wand and for some reason the roller brush must have been running and it sucked up a sock off the floor that I didn't realize was there. I noticed that it was smoking from the bottom of the vacuum when I smelled a burning smell. I immediately stopped the vacuum and removed the sock. Now, the roller brush will not work. I'm guessing that whatever propels it got burnt out. I can't believe that this product is still sold. I'm not sure if it would have started on fire, but it's not a good sign when it's smoking. I'm awaiting a reply from the company on this vacuum that really should be recalled.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I'm he best part is that it's so much easier to clean the car and in the couch with this handle. It's easy to clean and you can just rinse out the filter. No bags are needed. This you can just dump the plastic bin. I love Bissell because their products can last a long time.

I love this vacuum cleaner. the only con that I could think of is the wire could be a little longer
