I didn't realize that my household was running low on detergent. I should have expected it. A husband who washes his gym clothes every day, two babies under the age of two, and a mom who cleans and tends to children until my clothes look like table cloths. I came across a sample of ultra downy April fresh that I had received in the mail. I was on the LAST load of clothes till my husband got home with the only operating car. This particular load was my 22 month old son's bed sheets. I poured in the detergent and set it to wash without much of a second thought. The clothes dried and I took them upstairs to make his bed. He followed after me and no sooner had I laid his comforter over his mattress than he climbed into the bed and lay his head on the pillow. "Night night" he said. I said it back and watched him. He was smelling his sheets! They must have smelled good because he took a nap all by himself! I was thouroghly impressed and would be more than happy to repeat this experience! I'm so glad I received my sample in the mail!

I received this product free for my review, but all opinions are my own. Since I had my son, we've dealt with static cling craziness -- socks would show up in sheets weeks later and baby stuff is so tiny anyway, so stuff was just always missing. I love that this helps reduce static cling, the scent is so fresh, but not irritating to the skin at all and it's a name I know and trust.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to really love Downy fabric softener, but my family is very sensitive to added chemicals to laundry. I'm noticing that this formula tends to leave a residue on clothing. I'm not sure if it's more than it has been in the past, but I found it very noticeable, like an almost greasy feeling. The scent is nice though. I'm wishing that the was a more natural alternative to fabric softener that didn't feel like I was just layering chemicals onto my clothes—and into the wash water.

I received this product to try and I decided to use it on some of our puppy's dirty blankets and toys. I figured if it made those items fresh then this product would be a winner. After taking the blankets out the dryer, they smelled soooooo fresh that I couldn't believe I was actually putting my nose to the puppy's blanket! I will definitely be purchasing.

Downy April Fresh is an excellent product, it does what it claims to do and it was great on my family’s sensitive skin. My clothes smelled fresh and had a touchable softness. The only thing I didn’t like was tge intesity of the smell. Although it has an amazing smell, the intensity can be overwhelming. That might be a matter of preference but, overall, this is a great product.

With Downy I get exactly what I need and expect in a fabric enhancer, great gentle scent and gentle on the skin all while leaving our clothes feeling soft. An added benefit is with using this product your clothes are getting conditioned in the wash and less likely to stretch out. It is easy to use and a little bit really does go a long way. My family is satisfied with Downy’s performance.

It's exactly what you'd expect a top-of-the-line fabric softener to be - a product that gets my clothes conditioned while making everything smell amazing (including my house!). To be specific, I used the 34-ounce size of Ultra Downy April Fresh. I like that it's concentrated and that I didn't have to pour a lot to get its full benefits. As a disclaimer, I know that some people might be sensitive to fragrance, and I wouldn't recommend this product to them. Other than that, this product is a great addition for anyone who uses liquid fabric softener, and I'd tell them to buy it without hesitation. When I'm reviewing products, I always like to include the backs of the bottles, just so people can see the usage directions and get the feeling you'd get if you were to walk into the store and pick up the bottle to examine it (because the front label IS pretty, but it's not very informative to a discerning consumer, like me).
