Grill is cheaply made. When I opened it the grill was dented, scratched, and rusty. I had purchased the grill for a memorial day party so I had to put it together and use it anyway. Grill will not close properly, grease leaks out the tray and rapid rust due to the condition of the grill when it arrived. If you want a nice grill don't get this one. Additional note: it does not come with a cover but you will want to get one if you want the grill to last more than a summer. It was already rusty out of the box but rusted up worse and very quickly until I bought a cover. I have emailed the photos to Sam's club and gotten an run around follow up.

This is a sturdy, well designed grilling system. I appreciate it far more since I had to assemble it, as opposed to just buying one at Sam's. I saw first hand the quality of each section and am intimately aware of it's function and form. All components worked the first time and I found the manual/recipe guide a valuable resource. My only issue, and it's a small one, is that if you are using most of the components, there is a need for a table near the grill for a work surface (and a place to put your Coke).

The grill overall has been decent. I purchased this grill in 2014 and used it often. The smoker portion was ok, but burned through alot of wood in order to keep it warm. The grill started rusting at 2 years but this year the entire interior of the gas side has rusted out and the grates now fell to the bottom and can no longer be held up. For $250 (grill) + $70(cover), i expected as much, but wished it lasted more than 4 years. I called the company and they didn't offer anything but the parts department.

Bought this unit after looking at reviews and speaking to manufacturer. Others have this same unit at $450.00 and higher. It took my nephew and I about 2 hrs to assemble. It took longer to get all the boxes which contained parts out. When you assemble you start with the unit upside down. We ensured all was tight by using an impact driver. If you do this, do it gently. Great unit at this point. I broke it in before the first cooking. Sprayed it down with veg oil and let it cook to season the inside. Enjoy.

Purchased this combo grill 5 years ago 2-15-11. Smoke hollow honored there warranty and sent out everything ecept the gas burners after only one season. Since then very difficult to work with as far as warranty goes. This grill was stored in garage in winter. Covered with there heavy duty outdoor cover and used under a grill canapy. If your intention is to replace this Grill every four to five years but he's purchase are you looking for a quality gas grill smoker combo please pass this one by

My wife and I put this together, yes it does take two people. The firebox has been upgraded from previous reviews. That's a definite plus. We smoked a leg of lamb, boneless. The end result was very good, especially considering that I have never used an offset firebox before for smoking. Works very good and should last a long time if taken care of. I do wish that the sear burner was a regular burner though. If things change I'll update review.

This is my second of this Smoke Hollow product. I lost the first one in a divorce 2 years ago. When I got this one I pleasantly surprised at the vast improvements. Just a few: heavier gauge metal construction will insure longer life, better and more sturdy shelf for mounting propane tank, and more storage for charcoal and utensils.

My grill is going into its 4th year and the gas firebox is almost completely rusted out. Since owning this grill I have had to replace the burners, the burner covers (flame diffusers), the grill's grates and the auto-start wiring. Yesterday the bar supporting the left grill rusted through and the grate fell onto the burner. There are several other rust spots starting on this grill. This grill has been covered with the manufacturer's recommended cover which has started to deteriorate and the inside lining has cracked in several places. I have been always careful to allow the grill to completely cool down before recovering it and I don't grill in the rain.

Well, not a happy camper at the moment, because I just lost everything that I typed. I tried uploading the photos, and that did it. So, now you are getting a shorten version. They need to improve on the paint. Got one day of rain on it, and several areas are rusty already. MUST FIX!! Had grills that lasted years before getting rusty. Sad. Yes, have the pics to prove it. :-/ Instructions were great. I just had one mistake, which caused me to end up stripping a screw. Part 36. Over confidence or something, but missed the direction it should have went and found this out once I got ready to place the drip pan during final assembly. It has been assembled for 5 days, so I really can't say if I would recommend it to other people. You be the judge.

I was so excited with this grill. I finally had a smoker! We used the gas side most of the time, though. Unfortunately, although it was kept covered (with a Smoke hollow cover) and clean, the actual case of the gas side of the grill (which we used the most) totally rusted through within two years. Seems everyone has the same problem. It's a shame to throw away it away as the rest of mine is like new still. However there are no replacement parts that I can find (other than burners and grills). So, overall, this is a really great grill for about one or maybe two years, but plan on replacing about every other year.
