I purchased some furniture for my patio, then discovered that the area was unusable due to mosquito activity. Basically, I am mosquito bait, but I proclaimed that I would not surrender my leisure area to these little tyrannical pests. I studied up on the subject of making mosquitoes disappear. I learned that I could use citronella candles so I parked one one my left side during breakfast, but the mosquitoes made a meal of me on my right side. I also learned that growing garlic could help create a barrier. Even if that worked, I would not be planting until next season. I took a trip to my local Walmart and found Theracell in the gardening area. I read the claims, on the box, but I did not really believe that something that looks like a camp lamp could save my body from the biting flying demons. For about $20 and a great warranty / return policy, I took a risk. I actually sat outside with no shirt for about an hour and NEVER as much got a dirty look from a mosquito. This product really does create a barrier. One day I stepped outside the barrier to chase away some geese. When I returned to the protection area, I found that my little excursion invited three mosquito bites within one to two minutes. That told me that the mosquitoes were present, but they would not cross over that proverbial line in the sand. I must also add that there is no chemical smell. As someone with a keen sense of smell, the lack of a toxic aroma is a big bonus for me. I have recommended this product to three people in the span of a week. I will be buying these as gifts for others. I cannot lose giving these away.

I live in South Atlanta where the bugs are big and always mosquitos flying around. We used this lantern on our back deck that’s able to keep the bugs away while we are cooking on the grill or just enjoying outside. I def recommend it and it’s so easy to hook up. It’s best if you allow it to work 10 Mins before you go outside, i def see it working.

I have so many thermoelectric products this review is for all! From Mn to TX I would not be in the woods or at the lakes without them. Customer service is incredible I lost the bottom part to my hand held while on vacation and though the whole thing is not expensive, I didn't want the whole thing. Just the part that fell in the lake. I searched online to find parts and couldn't find any. I reached out to thermocell and they sent me one right away FREE! Love companies like this

This is my second year with the patio lantern and I just love it! It works! This year I have to have it on to keep the mosquitos away from the door on my porch. I just wish I could purchase the mats separately. seems the mats go faster than the cartridges.

Bought this Lantern probably 3 yrs ago has worked great till I went to put in new batteries and the spring broke that holds the battery in place.... Do you repair or do you have a total replacement part for the bottom. I have use your products since they came on the market Thanks

I purchased two of these lanterns several years ago and they do a great job of keeping the mosquitoes away. I primarily use them during camping trips. I used to apply a liquid repellant but I hated using that stuff and reapplying every few hours was a pain in the rear. Placing these lanterns out in strategic locations keeps our campsite mosquito free!

I read reviews on theses on Cabellas.com last year and purchased 4 for a camping trip based on those reviews. We did not get a single bite the entire time they were lit. We used them again for a BBQ in July and our yard is notorious for gnat swarms in the evening, these kept everything away. I can't wait to use them again this summer, these thing are WELL worth the money.

Although not expecting 100% effectiveness, that’s exactly what we got! We have a raised deck with an enclosed bottom — most likely allowing puddles underneath for breeding mosquitoes (rental property). With both common North American mosquitoes that come out at dawn and dusk, as well as Asian mosquitoes (? black and white striped) that come out all hours of the day and night, it’s almost not worth going out to the deck. But since using our lantern, we have not had a single bite. Considering that we normally average 20-50 bites per person in a 30 minute period — that’s an amazing effectiveness rating. We’ve noticed that even when the heat element isn’t on but the repellent pad is exposed to the sun, we still do not get bites as long as the pad is blue. Can’t say this product will be as effective for everyone but it is awesome for us! Note: used during stationary or minimal movement use (mostly sitting on the deck approx. 16’x14’ with frequent trips in and out of the house

The lantern doesn't give off enough light and found it large to store between uses because I didn't want to leave it outside. Also don't know how to store it in the house if I only used the pad for two hours. Smelling up my closet. Had one of the appliances last year and misplaced it so I bought the Lantern. I would store it with the partially used pad in a plastic bag. Was just more convenient for use on an unprotected patio.

Nana is usually the most bitten by all bugs. Invest in this lamp! It really works & Nana can stay out as long as she wants providing she is in the 15' perimeter. A little pricy compared to other Over the counter bug prevention products, BUT living bite FREE is priceless.
