I got my Thermacell lantern after reading up on the product. I needed something that really worked and would be kid safe on my porch. This has met all my expectations and more. I definately recommend this product to ward off those nasty mosquitos. It's worked great for me.

My husband and I moved to a new home near to the river that has lots of mosquitoes. We were so disappointed that we were not able to enjoy our new beautiful yard in the evening because of the stupid things. I'm also an avid outdoor camper and have much experience with mosquitoes. In my lifetime I've tried torches, candles, sprays, smells, bracelets, EVERYTHING. I had yet to find something that actually worked to repel them and just suffered with always still getting bitten or smelling like a walking Deet bottle. By happen chance I ran across this Thermacell lantern that I've never heard of before. We can hardly believe it; THIS LANTERN ACTUALLY WORKS!! We have been so thrilled with it we've recommended it to everyone we know in our area with a mosquito problem (we're in Southern Oregon). As soon as the mosquitoes come out, one of us runs in to get the lantern and within 5-10 minutes of starting it up they are just GONE. The radius is probably not exactly 15ft, more like 7-10ft but we went ahead and bought 2 for when we have company over. I can't say enough how happy I am that we bought this, it has changed our LIVES being able to enjoy evenings outside!!! We eat dinner outside now as often as we can now since this thing makes it possible!

I investigated and read everything about the thermacell lantern, then bought it. I first tested it with friends in Phoenix area, where we typically don't have many mosquitoes... But last spring we did, and it worked! Then I took it to our cabin in White Mountains, where for the past 2 summers I had lost patio privileges due to mosquitoes during the monsoon season. I have a cabin because I want to sit outdoors.... I prayed it would give me back my porch! It did! Now when we are invited to dinner, I bring wine AND thermacell! No one is complaining! Love my Thermacell!

As I mentioned in my review of a different unit, after an AMAZINGLY successful experience with our first unit on a camping trip, we have bought several more for ourselves, friends, and family. This one comes out to the patio table and, when on a camping trip, picnic table to keep us pest free while eating or just sitting around chatting with our friends. I wouldn't give our Thermacell's up for ANYTHING!!

I really hate to douse myself and my family in bug spray just to have dinner and a few drinks outside. This was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I love it. Yes, you do need to buy butane and the pads on an ongoing basis, so it can get pricey depending on how often you use the lantern. It's like owning a printer; you have to buy ink cartridges. But for me, it's worth it. Summers are not long in the Boston area, so we need to get outside and enjoy every minute. We are not bothered by any mosquitoes at all when we have this thing going. It's great!

We put a lot of work in our backyard and enjoy sitting out in the evenings, at least until the mosquitoes run us in. Since we have purchased our Thermacell product, the mosquitoes no longer bother us and we are happy to have our evenings back. The product truly works.

Bought this after reading good reviews and figured wed give it a shot. We live in maine where the bugs are fierce making it hard to work outside. With this lantern going mosquitos still attack without care, working on the car with the lantern all of 3ft away i was still getting chewed. Old school camp fire fends bugs off better than this lantern does

We bought ours a couple of years ago (I think 3) and absolutely love it. It is smaller but for my husband and I out on the farm (with a dugout so plenty of room for mosquitos to breed in) it works wonderfully. We are shopping for a larger one so that we can cover more space for when (or if, in this crazy world) our kids and grandkids can come out. This is a wonderful product and as long as you keep making the refills, we'll keep buying them and using your product. Thanks for a great way to stop scratching. 5 plus stars

I've been using this for a couple days on and off thinking it may be working. I changed the pad and it had been on for 30 min or so. It was sitting at my feet. It was working; I could smell it. I look down, and I'm being bitten my a mosquito. There was no wind.

I purchased two of these lanterns several years ago and they do a great job of keeping the mosquitoes away. I primarily use them during camping trips. I used to apply a liquid repellant but I hated using that stuff and reapplying every few hours was a pain in the rear. Placing these lanterns out in strategic locations keeps our campsite mosquito free!
