I purchased some furniture for my patio, then discovered that the area was unusable due to mosquito activity. Basically, I am mosquito bait, but I proclaimed that I would not surrender my leisure area to these little tyrannical pests. I studied up on the subject of making mosquitoes disappear. I learned that I could use citronella candles so I parked one one my left side during breakfast, but the mosquitoes made a meal of me on my right side. I also learned that growing garlic could help create a barrier. Even if that worked, I would not be planting until next season. I took a trip to my local Walmart and found Theracell in the gardening area. I read the claims, on the box, but I did not really believe that something that looks like a camp lamp could save my body from the biting flying demons. For about $20 and a great warranty / return policy, I took a risk. I actually sat outside with no shirt for about an hour and NEVER as much got a dirty look from a mosquito. This product really does create a barrier. One day I stepped outside the barrier to chase away some geese. When I returned to the protection area, I found that my little excursion invited three mosquito bites within one to two minutes. That told me that the mosquitoes were present, but they would not cross over that proverbial line in the sand. I must also add that there is no chemical smell. As someone with a keen sense of smell, the lack of a toxic aroma is a big bonus for me. I have recommended this product to three people in the span of a week. I will be buying these as gifts for others. I cannot lose giving these away.

Admittedly, there's some getting used to - and it's easy to forget to shut the thing off when you're not on the deck so you can go through more accelerant - but this gizmo provides a protective "shield" that deters not just mosquitoes but no-see-ems, gnats, and black flies. It takes about 10 minutes or so for the "shield" to get going, and you should buy refills ahead as the mat works best if you change it each time. Refills are inexpensive and I've not found another product that works as well. We run mosquito magnets in the summer, but they don't deter gnats and black flies - this does. We're on our 3rd season and are buying another for our back deck.

Mosquitos are VERY attracted to me. I get so many bites and then welt up from them. It is awful. My brother-in-law told me about this products, swearing by it so I ordered immediately and received it last week. NO MORE NASTY BUG SPRAY. I always have to saturate myself in the Deep Woods or similar products with lots of DEET and then I have to shower off each night because it feels so gross. I am SO happy he told me about Thermacell. I ran out of butane tonight and the mosquitos came right back so I came on here to order more butane. THANK YOU for such a GREAT PRODUCT!!

We bought a portable thermacell for camping and I was so impressed we bought a couple of these patio shield lanterns and I couldn’t be happier I did. The price you pay for these (very reasonably priced) is well worth being able to enjoy the outdoors without being eaten by mosquitoes!!! I now own multiple different models of thermacell and never venture outdoors without one. Best thing is, every one of my different models use the same fuel and Matts so it makes it very convenient and versatile. Love love love all of my thermacells.

We purchased this unit to use on our back porch. It works so much better than candles or sprays. Then we took it camping. The LED lights allow my wife and me to play board games at the picnic tables with the other lights off. Doesn't bother the kids and it is kinda of romantic. We are so sold on this that now we take it our neighbors when they have outdoor parties. Several have purchased them because of ours. Thanks for making such a great product.

My neighbor bought these lanterns 2 years ago. We have a shared patio area between our houses and enjoy socializing by the firepit. Since using these lanterns we have not dealt with any mosquitos. It is wonderful. My neighbor is a mosquito magnet. They love biting her. She will never give up her lanterns!!! The battery powered light adds to our safety at night when we decide to enter our homes for the night. They are durable and easy to use.

I bought this lamp to replace the Off! Candle lantern as I could not find any refills for it and dealing with the hot wax and open flame was not great at times on the patio. I bought the Bristol model at Lowes and was not impressed by its performance. I had already ordered the Cambridge model from Thermacell's online site as well as refill package. The Cambridge worked much better. I will give the Bristol another try before returning.

Bought two of the Thermacell Cambridge Mosquito Repellent Lanterns on recommendation from a friend. We would BBQ in the back yard and it would never fail 6:00PM the wife would run into the house because of the buggy B@$t@rds. Now thanks to these, my wife can stay outside and enjoy the outdoors with our company. Thank you

This lantern really does the trick! I am usually swarmed by mosquitoes so I couldn't wait to try this out. I am very pleased that this seems to do the trick and without having to use a spray or have an open flame which means it's great to use around my kids. I love this and would definitely recommend trying it out.

Super happy with Thermacell! Have been using these products for three years in the yard and out camping. Just bount the Patio Shield and used it last week gardening. Took a chance and didn't put on repellent for the black flies. Did get a couple of bites, but it was more effective than the repellant. Love having the ability to hang the lantern off things.
