I bought this because I use a Thermocell on the patio to keep mosquitoes off the cats and away from the back door. Unlike the other Thermocell I have, you cannot tell if this is lit or not until it heats up. I really like the light feature because it reminds me I have it on, so I know to turn it off once everyone is in for the night.

Hi! This product was recommended to me by a friend. Works well, easy to use and I like that it also acts as a lantern. Used it at a neighbor’s barbecue and wife using it now on our deck. Price is good. I just hope I can remember to keep the gas cartridges and repellent in stock!

I owen several thermacell units for hunting and fishing and one of the patio lanterns for camping and ballgames . This is a great product , I could not enjoy my hunts or fishing trips on the river without them , I hunt in Arkansas and in Texas and you have to have this product to enjoy your hunt, My wife suggested we buy the patio lantern for camping and ballgames , Its works the same as all thermacell products , I want to say a big thank you for making our outdoor activities enjoyable !!!!!!

I used the OFF brand mosquito lanterns for several years. When the product started being discontinued and it was pricey and difficult to get refills, I did an Internet search for another lantern that used the SAME chemical in the wick -- since that had always been the ONLY mosquito control that ever worked for us, the same as used by the US government to protect troops in mosquito-ridden areas. Luckily I was able to find a new supplier in these Thermacell Patio lanterns, using the same chemical in the wicks and a slightly different lantern technology. I was pleased with the new lanterns and also with the fact that my new supplier is a strong company that is unlikely to discontinue a popular product.

Themocell is a powerhouse for mosquito repellent! The lantern puts off just enough light and the repellent is a powerhouse. We love in an area close to the water therefore there are areas with still water that mosquitos love. We use this all season and swarmed no longer with themocell :-) very pleased with the products!

This product is great! I'm an Eagle Scout, and when at camp sometimes the mosquitoes were bad, but then I got a ThermoCELL and solved the problem!!! They are great for the center of your campsite to keep everyone and everything bug-free! They also work well in the yard, on the deck, anywhere and everywhere! I don't even take bug spray with me to camp anymore, thats how good my ThermaCELL is!!!

This product truly WORKS! We live on a 2 acre property in the country, and come dusk you cannot even sit on the back deck. My first try using Therma Cell we noticed that after a dinner party outside, for over 5 hours we did not receive a single mosquito. Therma Cell WORKS, I highly recommend this product.

The plague is over! We tried everything to repel those biting girls - burned so many citronella candles you could see us from space; slathered ourselves in "natural" repellent ("natural" meaning the mosquitoes know they won't get hurt if they bite you); etc - all to no avail. We read numerous on-line reviews all of which touted Thermacell as the only viable option. What was there to lose? Not being seen from space? So we got two and put them on our deck. Voila! No bites, no annoying buzz (other than what we were drinking) and peace, at last, to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Our deck is large so we bought two lanterns and set them on either end. It does help to set them up half an hour or so prior to going out. NASA, you can take us off your radar because we'll be sitting back and enjoying our nightly cocktails in peace. We had other Thermacell products but no lantern. During our garage sale, I had to lay the holster model on the floor. When I saw the lantern model, I thought it was a great addition for camping. I love that it sits on the picnic table in the middle without any support out of the way yet close by. The kids can't reach it and it looks nice too. So far, we are very satisfied as we have seen no mosquitoes landing!

It does not put out a lot of light, but that is what I wanted. I use mine with or without the light just for the repellent, but the light itself is very useful as well. It really keeps the bugs away and it is bright enough to read by. Perfect for the camp site. I used it last year in my Jeep for 4th of July with he top off watching fireworks. Totally amazed with how well it keeps the creepy crawlers at bay !
