Samsung All the Way

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really happy with my new microwave. I already own a Samsung refrigerator, which has been working great, so I decided to stick with the same brand. The menu buttons are user-friendly, and the microwave performs really well. Its sleek appearance gives my kitchen a modern look, especially since my previous microwave was over 15 years old and outdated.

Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this microwave two weeks ago and loving it. Perfectly designed and elegant looking with great finish. Good size that can accommodate large utensils. Quite in operation and easy to maintain. Smart capabilities with wifi feature is helpful. Adds value and a nice overall look in the kitchen.

Samsung Matte Black steel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice microwave. Its looks are sleek and modern. I had to blur some parts of the pictures to hide my messy kitchen. It complements my samsung range, fridge and dishwasher. Its really powerful, heats up food quickly and is pretty quiet. I haven't had a chance to test out the smart features yet but I'm looking forward to it. Update: The smartthings app is really ease to use. I have a number of other things connected in my home. The capacity of the microwave is large, I can fit a large bowl inside. The voice control is novel, but I dont see using it much. I like the different speed settings on the exhaust fan.

Negative

Product will work for about a year and a day, assuming it shows up intact, which mine took 3 tries. Then you have it installed over the stove, as per the design, and the heat and steam from your stove will corrode the keypad, resulting in a large repair bill. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG

DO NOT BUY THIS MIRCOWAVE

I installed this microwave in February, a couple of weeks into using it, I tried to defrost frozen veggies that I had going in the microwave for 5 minutes, while cooking (with hood on) and it shut off halfway through. It wasn't my breaker or my power, it was a pattern. Every time i used it to warm something longer than 3 minutes even without using the hood it would shut off. I'd have to troubleshoot (unplug it) for a few minutes to get it working again. So I avoided running it for long periods (3 minutes or more). Now (May) it doesn't warm my food! I put my food in, put it in for 2 minutes, it spins and makes noise and has a light on and seems to be working but my food remains cold. I checked all the possible issues and the only way to fix it it seems is to either get it replaced or get a repair 3 months into using it. I am frustrated i have a brand new kitchen but this faulty appliance that seems to have every unnecessary feature (can connect to wifi for some reason??) BUT warming my food as a microwave!

Samsung microwave is not heating or has stopped working: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001963/ In addition, this microwave is rated at 1700 watts, which draws roughly 14.2 amps on a 120V line. While that technically falls within the capacity of a standard 15-amp circuit, it pushes it very close to the limit, especially considering the National Electrical Code recommends not exceeding 80% of a circuit’s capacity for continuous use. That 80% threshold on a 15-amp circuit is just 12 amps, meaning this microwave exceeds the recommended safe load. Using a 20-amp dedicated circuit would provide the necessary headroom, reducing strain on both the microwave and the electrical system. When a high-powered appliance like this is run on a borderline or shared 15-amp circuit, it can lead to shutdowns or cause a microwave to stop heating (directly or indirectly, reasons listed below). 1. Voltage Drops Under Load - The microwave might still turn on (light, turntable, fan), but the magnetron (the part that actually heats food) may not get enough power to operate. 2. Internal Protection Kicks In - If the power supply is unstable or insufficient, the microwave might cut off the magnetron to prevent damage. 3. Long-Term Damage - Over time, these parts (board/magnetron) may degrade and eventually fail completely, leading to the current state where your unit spins but doesn't heat. Love these features

I am a short person and I love that the instrument panel is horizontal and that it is printed on the glass. This really makes a difference as you don’t have ledger lights on until you’re ready to use.

Exactly the over the range microwave I want

This is easy to clean and smart things is a plus when I was wondering why I would need a smart oven. You can send the instructions to cook based on the recipe from your phone directly and can control the hood from the app. Nice to have features !!

My Samsung Matte Black Steel Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our new microwave is so great! It looks beautiful, both inside and out. It works great with a powerful vent that removes odors. You can use Voice Control with certain mobile devices. I especially love using my SmartThings app to remotely control the vent fan. I'm looking forward to using the Sensor Cook. For certain foods, the sensor in the microwave will detect moisture in the food and adjust the cooking time as necessary! It's great for everyday use: reheating my coffee and cooking fast meals or snacks. I recommend this reasonably priced microwave.

Neat microwave but misses the mark

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the integration with my Samsung range. It is really neat how when I turn on the range it turns on the microwave vent fan. The color is nice and goes well with the kitchen. The buttons on the front are really sleek. The microwave door does not always close. This causes it to act like it is starting even though the cook request is complete. So you have to shut it and then push the top right corner to make sure the door is closed. The glass turn table is extremely difficult to line up. So it makes a scratching sound that make it sound like it is going to break. The defrost options does not include a timed defrost. It only defrosts by weight. Overall, it’s a decent microwave but not built up to Samsung’s standards
