Customer reviews for BISSELL TurboClean DualPro Pet XL Upright Deep Cleaner forNot good
First time I use it and the handle keeps coming out, so i returned it.
Hi Edelimira, we’re sorry to hear about your experience—that’s definitely frustrating, especially on first use. The handle should lock firmly into place, so it sounds like something wasn’t seating correctly, and we appreciate you letting us know. If you’d like help with a replacement or have questions about another BISSELL machine, our team is happy to assist at support.bissell.com.

Absolutely, amazing. Better than any commercial carpet cleaner I have ever rented.

Easy to use but slightly awkward
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product as a quick replacement for my old carpet cleaner (16+ years old) that blew up when I was half way through the room. This cleaned much better than expected. I just found the weight of the clean water tank in the upper handle to be awkward and hard to maneuver.
Great cleaning power and ease of use!
I was lucky to receive the Bissell TurboClean DualPro Pet Carpet cleaner from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was so excited to try it out, because I've literally never cleaned my carpets. I have several area rugs in our home, as it is all hard wood flooring and I needed to have a few set up in bedrooms and in our living room. I tested this out on a low pile carpet and a high pile carpet, and wow - my carpets were filthy! This machine was able to really get into the fibers and work out the nasties left by our 11 year old dog, and 2 year old son! (see photo of post-cleaning nasties!) The hose and tough stain attachment worked pretty well for our living room couches as well. I liked how simple the cleaner was to assemble, and all instructions were really easy to follow with the exception of one detail: I was confused on whether I needed to push the button for cleaner release the entire time I was making the cleaning passes, or just press the button once and *THEN* do the cleaning passes. If the manufacturer could make that clearer, I would be very delighted. After cleaning is completed, I loved the fact that I could dump out the dirtied water right into my sink, rinse all the parts with clean water, let them air dry on the counter top, and then put it all back together with no problems for storage. One feature I would add to this is a better way to see the tank is full from the angle you are using it. You have to bend down to the tank to see that the dirty water has hit its "full" line. When the vacuum just sort of stops working as well, it's not super intuitive. I would appreciate a better indication of that! Finally, I wish that the foot had a smaller surface area as it is difficult to store it in our small apartment. Other than that, this is a fantastic addition to our household and will be a frequently used cleaner in the years to come!!
Recommend being able to try before you buy
I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I think I received a defective product, because it did not work properly. The cleaning solution/water did not come out of the machine very well and not much dirt was lifted into the dirty tank. Also, I think it would be better if the water and cleaning solution had separate compartments in the tank. It did move around okay and was easy enough to maneuver, but it just did not work great. The carpets were barely wet after using it. This is not the norm for Bissell products so I do think that the product I received was defective. I would recommend trying this product and if you experience the same, return it.

Great carpet cleaner for a deep clean!
I was thrilled when I learned that I'd be getting a TurboClean™ DualPro Pet to review through the Stellar Product Testing Panel! The DualPro Pet felt super sturdy and well engineered: the pieces really click together in a satisfying way. The first project I tackled was my bedroom rug, which I dragged to a tile floor so that I wouldn't damage my bedroom hardwood floor. I vacuumed it really well with my regular vacuum and then used the Pro Max Clean + Protect solution that came with the DualPro Pet to clean the rug. MAN the dirty water that came off that rug was dirty. And the solution smelled good and the instructions were clear, I thought it was a great success! My only concern was that there seemed to be clumps of rug fibers being pulled off the rug. If the rug had been more precious I would have worried about it, but ultimately I don't think there was any noticeable damage. Next I tried the living room carpet with the stains and cat pee, and those stains and smells came right out! Again I saw some clumps of rug fibers coming up, but nothing too concerning. There were a few times that I struggled to keep the machine going in a straight line, it kept wanting to veer to the side, but overall it was easy to manage. I did want to try out the hose and tough stain tool, so I used them on my carpeted runner on my stairs. I struggled a little bit here because the sprayer wouldn't work unless the machine was above the level of the stairs I was spraying. Ultimately I figured it out, though, and I ended up with some seriously dirty water after cleaning the stairs! I do have to say that the machine was a bit annoyingly loud when it was on the hardwood floor, though when I used it on the rug or carpet it didn't bother me. I was also concerned that the machine would damage my hardwood floor while I was using the hose and tough stain tool because the manual warns about this, but the brushes actually stopped spinning and I didn't worry about damage to the floor.
Bring on the Steps!!!
Compliments of the Stellar Product Testing Panel I was able to test out the Bissell Turbo Clean Dual Pet Cleaner! The assembly was a breeze, but not as much as cleaning our disgusting carpeted stairs. The unit is so light weight I finally felt motivated enough to tackle our stairs and I really should have earlier by the looks of the horrid water. Even though the Bissell is light weight, it hasn't jeopardized any of the true cleaning integrity. Upon the first use, since I'm a directions skimmer from time to time, I missed that you can actually clean the sucker up portion of the unit! The actual nozzle!! That was one of my largest pet peeves with our carpet cleaner was that you had to look at the dried filth pooled in the cracks and crevices of the see-thru portion, but they really nailed it with this one! We have put the crevice tool to work a few times with couch vs toddler mishaps and zero complaints there. With it being so light weight I'll admit that I came home to my husband standing on the couch with the entire carpet cleaned sucking up vomit pretty care free and quite proud of himself. The easy fill cap and the tank are both very user friendly. All and all, we've in love with this product and the versatility it has brought with being as light as it is, it's not an all day project lugging it in and out of the linen closet anymore!
Easier to maneuver carpet cleaner
I have used other carpet cleaners in the past so the thing that surprised me the most about this one was that it's not as bulky and difficult to maneuver. It is much easier to control and push around, closer to a normal vacuum. It cleans great and leaves the carpet looking new again. The express clean mode is the best! It doesn't leave the carpets soaked. Comes with a hose and attachments. We use the hose for cleaning the dreaded stairs. Unfortunately it's not quite long enough for our straight shot stairs to set the vacuum at one end and get halfway. I have to do a balancing act with the big cleaner on a stair to be able to get them all. Overall it's a great cleaner and makes cleaning the carpets feel like less of a chore.
