This Western Digital external hard drive stopped working after just 7 months, completely out of nowhere. I expected reliability, but instead got frustration. Dealing with their warranty process has been a nightmare. I’ve been going back and forth with customer service for weeks. They promised to send a return envelope, but never actually sent it because they said that wasn't part of the warranty process. Every time I follow up, something changes. From let me help you to let me check to see if this is a warranty item. This product is unreliable, and the company clearly doesn't stand behind it. Between the defective drive and the terrible warranty support, I’m beyond frustrated. Avoid this brand, t’s not worth the hassle or the risk of losing your data.

USB 2.0. This is NOT super speed. 2.0 is decade+ old tech and slow as heck.

I had to replace it once. Then the replacement is currently not readable and I am going to have to pay to try and retrieve my data.

Good storage. Fast and reliable. Just be sure to connect it directly to the computer. Mine seemed to have issues when connected to a hub. Get a longer cable if needed.

I bought this pile of crap 5gig external hard drive from Sam's club today and went I went to home to try to install it, it generated tons of errors. The drivers could not be installed and the software was a total useless application. Tried to install this on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The support website had software and drivers did not work either. Total pile of Junk just like Domestic car Manufacturers. Returned this crappy product back to Sam's Club. I have Seagate external hard drives with no issues with either PC Operating Systems.

Love Western Digital. Install was plug and play (USB 3) and no problems.

Works well, not blazingly fast, but very capable.
