Horrible packaging

These are impossible to get out of the package. I just cut my finger trying to tear one out. Who carries scissors around in public to cut them out. No chance of a discrete battery change at a movie or in church. Terrible design. Guess you just have to cut them all out and carry in a plastic bag.

We are sorry for your experience with the battery packaging, ehallie. Please know the packaging was updated to follow Reese’s Law, mandating all button, coin, and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – be contained in child-resistant packaging. We understand the challenge in first opening the packaging but believe once members become more familiar with how it works the easier it becomes to open.

All H Aid batteries are packaged this way.

These only last one week if worn everyday. The packaging it almost IMPOSSIBLE to open, cut or any other way. They used to be in different packages and easy to open, BUT some stupid people changed all of that. If I can find where to buy them from a different supplier, Sam's Club is out for me. They are the worst for anyone to try to open. I wrote to customer service about them, and what a joke those people are, don't know nothing.

Adult proof

Apparently Sam's decided to make these batteries even more child proof. They succeeded also made them adult proof. Do they realize that the users are elderly and aren't looking for an even more challenging access experience. Why does it have to be so difficult to simply open the packaging and get a couple batteries.

Packaging

The batteries are absolutely fine, this new packaging, however, is not. It is incredibly difficult to get the batteries out. They're encased in hard plastic. For those who have arthritis or any other condition that affects the hands, I cannot imagine how difficult this would be for them.

Worst packaging design ever

The person that designed this packaging must have a vendetta against seniors. It is literally impossible to open without tools, and the force required to try and cut with scissors makes it outright dangerous. Once you do cut through it, you still have to pry at it and the plastic edges can cut you.

These batteries work just fine. I can only give them four stars because the packaging is too difficult to open! Small packs that fit nicely in my purse. But I have to carry strong kitchen shears to open the plastic so I can actually use the batteries! The older ones required some strength but I didn't have to use tools. Just ridiculous!

Wonderful batteries but horrid packaging

If I wasn't around to open these for my mom she would never be able to get to them. I'm in my 40's and these are a beast for me to open. How is some elderly person with arthritic hands supposed to open it? I'd like to see the designer of these take them to a nursing home or something and ask a group of people to open them. Get a grasp of reality of how horrid the packaging is. Regular batteries aren't child proof. Why do these need to be taken to the extreme?

horrible packaging

bring back the old version! this is ridiculous that i have to cut the batteries out of the plastic. waste of plastic and card board and why does it feel like less batteries and nearly $2 more than the old packaging. more work than necessary. doesn't even turn to release another battery. Not practical.

Packaging is too difficult to get into

The batteries are a great deal and I've been buying them for years. But, the packaging now is terribly difficult to open. With arthritic hands, using scissors can be challenging and that is the only way to open up the package to get a battery out. My mother has to use wire cutters to open the packaging because scissors are too difficult to cut with since she has very little strength in her hands. I read thru several reviews where others feel the same way about the packaging. I hope Sam's will re-think their packaging to make it easier to remove the batteries.

Terrible Must have scissors to access each battery

The batteries themselves are so-so, but the packaging makes them unusable. They are considered childproof because they sealed each batter in hard plastic that is nearly impossible to even open with scissors. They are not a package you can just keep on hand to get a battery when you need one. I assume most people do as I do, and have a wheel of batteries every place I might be - 1 upstairs, 1 downstairs, 1 in the car, 1 in my travel bag, etc.. With these, you will also need a pair of scissors with each wheel of batteries...
