Quiet, powerful, priced right

Great little generator for emergency purposes. Bought this to replace a very large generator that was way to much for our needs during an emergency. Who really needs to light up the whole house during a true emergency situation? I need something that is quiet, sips the gas and can easily be secured. This things fits the bill perfectly. Less expensive and more powerful than the Honda with a longer warranty. Seems like a no brainer. Great reviews everywhere you look.

Great Price & Performance

Compared to other similar generators such as the Honda or Yamaha you get a great price for the same performance. Combined two iGen2500 along with parallel cords to get double the performance. Can't beat the price! Easy to set up and run both generators. Extremely quiet.

Very well built and not too big or expensive

I totally over-researched portable inverter generators before finally settling on the iGen2500. I wanted something to have on hand for our next power outage and a portable inverter unit fit the bill nicely. Setup was a breeze with everything included in the box except for a standard Philips screw driver. The setup sheet and manual are clear and easy to understand. The unit is small and light enough to easily store on a shelf in the garage. I don't have much to compare it to, but the iGen2500 is pretty quiet. The design is clever with an easily-removable side panel to access the oil fill/drain and fuel bowls. As I don't anticipate using the iGen a whole lot, I really like that the fuel system includes a bowl drain and hose to quickly and easily prepare the unit for a return to storage. One of the features that helped me settle on the iGen2500 was the ability to run in parallel mode with another iGen if I ever need it. Westinghouse's parallel cord setup seems simpler and easier to use than others and provides the standard home 120v style outlets a homeowner would need. While not looking forward to it, I finally feel confident and ready for the next time we lose power.

Exactly what I had hoped for!

Put the oil in and gas and it started on the second pull. Runs smooth and I would consider it to be very quiet, now the heavier the load the harder it runs the more noise it makes, but if you are using small appliances and can run it on eco mode it is just a little purr. I have very high expectations for this little guy. I purchased this for power outages so we won't lose everything in our refrigerator and freezer. Also we expect it to be useful with our small travel trailer

Little - light and very powerful

Used for 1 month after Hurricane Maria struck Pueero Rico and I'm very happy with it. It powers one medium size fridge, 10 (5-15 watts) led bulbs, 1 (75watt) pedestal fan and I have a lot of power for other uses. Sometimes I used it with my clothes washer (econo mode off) and my espresso 1800 watt machine. I'm really happy. Gas consumption is around 9 to 12 hours depending on type usage.

First Portable Inverter Generator

Filled the engine up with supplied oil and pulled cord several time to get the oil moving around. Put about a half gallon in the tank. The unit started in 3 or 4 pulls. The engine died a couple of times but is running steady now. Plan to use the generator for my drone business and the house if the power were to go out for any length of time. I was concerned about how will the unit would run since my house is at 6000 feet+. Prior to buying, I called customer support they told me that the unit had been tested up to 4500 feet. The rep said that in early 2018 they were going to sell a high altitude kit. So I plan to buy that once they start selling them.

Great Generator, with a Couple of Minor Issues

I bought this generator to run my 15,000 BTU air conditioner with the Micro Air Easy Start. The generator is great, started on the second pull and has good power out. I'm taking off a star for two issues. First is my fuel float sticks. When I first filled it up, said zero fuel. After sitting overnight it was at 1/2. I grabbed a screw driver and realized the float sticks. Hoping it will loosen up with use, as the nearest service center is 3 hours away. Not a deal breaker, but just annoying. The second issue is despite the manual claiming there is a lifetime run counter on the led display, they apparently forgot to program that feature. Nothing a $25 add on won't fix, but the display is already there, how did they miss that?? Other than these two minor gripes, great product. With the Easy Start it will power my A/C along with my converter in trickle charger and my fridge on electricity (at 2,000' above sea level). Would highly recommend.

Ideal Generator for Travel Trailer or RV

Bought a competitor's 2000 Watt generator but quickly found it was unable to handle my travel trailer's AC even with a microprocessor soft start kit. The Westinghouse iGen2500 provided enough extra surge and running wattage to do the job without a problem. Great features of the iGen2500 are the same lite weight and approximately the same size but best feature of all for me was the lower price.

Very reliable and affordable generator

I bought the iGen2500 generator almost 5 months ago and I am very happy with it so far. I have been using it at least 2 times per month during our camping trips, I used it while beach camping 2 weekends ago and it ran almost 48 hours continuously, only stopping to refuel, it was perfect, 1 full tank lasted 8-10 hours at night, depending on the load (my daughters like to watch a lot of movies at night). I have to say it is very quiet (something I was worry about) even at 80% output. I like the led data center display very much, can check remaining run time, power output, fuel level and voltage very quick. I am planning to buy a second one to run parallel for my AC during summer. Overall I think this is a great generator. Will update later if any issues.

Just What We Were Looking For....

We live in Hurricane alley in Florida and decided this year we would be prepared. We wanted to have an inverter generator on hand to run chest freezer, fans, lamps and recharge electronic items. We wanted portable, light, reliable, and easy start. After extensive research we selected the iGen 2600. We liked the higher starting 2600 watts and the continuous 2200 watts should easily power what we need. So far it has been easy to maintain and starts with 1 pull!
