I had a 200amp transfer switch installed by my home builder so all I had to do was buy a generator and run the wiring. I decided to get the 22kw air cooled generac. What a simple unit to install on your own. Very detailed instructions and initial setup was a breeze. I went with the weekly exercise schedule for my generac. Only bad thing is that my utility company power has only went out once and it was only about 30 minutes. Had absolutely zero issues during those 30 minutes.

We had a generac generator at our last house for 7 years, no problems. We have only tested this unit so far, no power outages yet, but tests were good. Only one problem, the load shed modules do NOT work as advertised. The specs say it can "disable" a circuit while on generator power. It cannot do this. It can disable the circuit in an overload situation only. We needed this feature to disconnect our solar panels while on generator power.

Adding the Guardian "whole house" system offers great piece of mind that our family and home will be automatically protected during severe weather and any other catastrophe. The generator itself and transfer switch are well made, easy to use and look great too! Hearing the generator start-up every week for it's self-test actually makes me look forward to the next time the power goes out ;)

We live in the country and being isolated wanted to be secure in our all electric home. The Generac back up generator was the size we needed for full home back up, could run on propane and had the load shedding feature we wanted. It is powerful and reasonably economical so that we can be self-sufficient for up to 30 days. Given the uncertainties of today, this is what we wanted. Unit has all the remote inlaces you could want and operation completely automatically. Our Generac dealer did the install and does the routine service. He is expert and responsive. This was a great investment and no doubt has increased the value of our home.

I love this new 22KW generator. The dealership and installation folks were just fantastic. They set up a time with my propane provider so that they could all be there during the installation. The install of the generator, wiring and propane lines were all done in one mornings time. We decided on a whole home unit that would run the power in our whole house if the electric service went out and we are very very happy with it. The generator is set to come on weekly and will run for about five minutes or so and does a complete check of the system before it turns off. We also decided to go with the Com-Link option which was around $200.00 and it will send you texts or emails with a report of the weekly tests along with each time the generator is on or the power goes out, a great option for our peace of mind while away from home. There is also an app that you can refer to that tells you the condition of the battery, times the test runs occurred along with Minutes/hours of run times and when the next maintenance is due. Your Generac dealer can also pull up all this information and line out a time with you for upcoming maintenance. As I've said before, I LOVE THIS NEW ADDITION to our family :)

Power went out for 3 days after the install of our generac generator....ran continuous with no problems....convenience was exceptional of not having to manually start..powered the house with ability to do laundry, dishs and live life as if the power never went out. i highly recommend if you have power outages.....

After a hurricane & 4 days with no power, we bought a whole-house generator. Good reviews led us to choose Generac. It has already served it's purpose twice in the 3 months since it's installation. It's quieter than a portable & has kept us up & running with only a few seconds without power. It's no larger than the AC unit & it's case is unobtrusive. We chose propane with a buried tank. We sr. citizens are grateful for the peace of mind.

We have had two outages since the Generac was installed and it worked exactly as promised. No instruction booklet was left and the verbal instructions were a bit confusing. The appliance should come with an instruction manual so we know how to take care of it. My car, dishwasher,refrigerator,etc all came with instruction/service manuals.

The general speaks for itself I'm enjoying it very much when the power goes off I can continually enjoy my day at home whether it cooking cleaning or whatever I do t have to sit around and wait for power to come back on and great features to keep everything running in your house. Thanks Generac

After building our new home on the South Texas coast and installing our new Generac with automatic start, we moved in in May 2017. Three weeks later, a huge storm hit and our entire town lost power. Needless to say, we were the only house on our street with power and, thank goodness, air conditioning. Our Generac was worth every penny -- we're so glad we installed it from the beginning!
