I did a lot of research into backup generators, some had a few more bells and whistles so was the cost. From what I found Generac stood above them all. The 18Kw will meet out needs. We went through ESCON Power Solutions, Bay City, MI for the purchase and installation. They went above and beyond to make sure the installation was done correctly (a couple of unplanned challenges were found during the installation). I highly recommend them if you are looking for a Generac dealer.

I just got my Generac 22 Kw installed this week. The Dealer did a fantastic job, and from start (set the generator on the pad) to finish (Final City Inspection), it only took 4 straight business days. It was like clockwork with the Electrician, Plumber, Gas Co., and Inspector, one day right after the other. When we did the first Start-up, I was really surprised how quiet the generator was . I thought it would be a lot nosier than it was. I know it won't bother my neighbors when we all lose power in Central Florida during a Hurricane or other event. I am very pleased with my purchase, which I got at a great (and the best) value from my hometown Dealer.

Because our house was totally electric, the installation process was extended. We started on 06/07/2023 and finished on 07/25/2023. Some of the delay was with permits, and having to get ENTERGY to run a gas line and install a gas meter. The process of installing the controller, running the electric wires from the controller and generator to the breaker panel is an arduous process. Running the gas line from the meter to the generator was another involved process. Overall, we are pleased with the process and is now ready for the hurricane season, as that was the primary purpose of getting the generator.

From the time I first contacted the Generator SuperCenter about the Generac standby home generator system everyone super friendly extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. When it came to the installation and setup did a great job and cleaned up and the setup went really great. Frank the technician checked out everything got everything running tested it severally times to make sure everything was working correctly then he went over and explained every part of the system and answered any questions that I may have. As my wife and I age we have been doing what we can to make our home easier to live in as we get ready for retirement. Our county in Maine is experiencing some strong winds from an unusual direction for us and causing large area blackouts. We our one of a few with this type of generator on our and other than the internet being disrupted for a couple of we have no disruption in our daily routine. Did a lot of research and decided on Generac. I am chairman of the board of our local power provider. I had our our staff spec out my size needs, based on my peak usage for the past 6 months. I bought a unit much larger than recommended. When final hook up was done(very expensive) we could not even test the unit because a starter battery was not included. Then the state electrical inspector and my local professional electrician informed me that the breaker in the unit was abou 1/2 of what was needed to power this unit. I still do not have it on line. Very disappointed at this time.

Built my home in summer of 2020, installed the 22kW Generac onto the home and I have never been so happy. Every outage it performed perfectly, every month, it tested perfectly on the 1st. Every time I use the APP to check it or update the maintenance, it’s all good to go. I can’t say enough good things for this product. People, if your just not sure, do it, you won’t be disappointed.

I had an electrician install this generator brand new out of the box. It started right up and worked fine, however we couldn't get the Wifi module to work. I called Mobilelink and we couldn't figure it out, so I had to have a service tech come out to trouble shoot. Turns out the wifi module wasn't even plugged in. So we plugged it in, connect to the internet and did a software update that ultimately fried the control unit, so now the generator won't even start. The control unit is now on order and am waiting with a very expensive giant paperweight sitting in my yard. To make matters worse, there is currently a heat wave with rolling power outages and my generator is just sitting there doing nothing except burning a hole in my pocket.

Living in the country we depend on electrical energy for our water well pump and sanitary system as well as all household applications. The Generac standby generator gives us peace of mind that we will have running water as well as lights during a utility outage.

At our other house the Derecho came through and knocked over 9 trees. Everybody else lost power for 5 days. We made it fine through Sandy. We only had a 13K at that house so we definitely put a 22K on this house since we didn't have air conditioning for those 5 days and swore we'd never do that again. It's great.
