I installed the generator and transfer switch myself last summer. The installation instructions and registration requirements were clear and straight forward and installation went well. The generator worked perfectly during several small storms in 2020 and ran continuously for 5 days during the 2021 Texas Deep Freeze. After the storm I checked the oil and it was still full even after the extended run time. I changed the oil myself and the design of the oil drain makes it easy and clean. There must be a group of bright and practical people in the design and manufacturing departments that make good products like this possible. Please keep making these generators in the USA and do not fall into the Made in China cheap junk cesspool.

I had been taking gas cans and getting them filled to run a 6500 watt generator for years during power outages from hurricanes, When i read up on Generac whole house generators and talked to some friends that had them I was sold. When it was started up and tested for the first time yesterday it was a good feeling, The unit ran perfectly and ran all of the utilities in the house including the air conditioner. It is a nice looking unit and will serve my electrical needs for years.

This product is actually what we needed. We now feel comfortable that if the power goes off, we will be OK. My wife needs oxygen. and we cannot afford to lose power. I recommend Generac to anyone considering a whole house generator or any product available from Generac.

Generac with the whole home switch takes all worries away of a power outage, the monthly self check feature keeps the generator ready for the outage and the mobile link keeps all the information in the palm of your hand. we had Elan Electric install our Guardian 24KW and they did a great job, we would highly recommend Generac and Elan Electric.

I am very satisfied with the product, but ... The installation manual needs to be re-written. It appears that everything is easy once the new owner has connected the device to his home network. FYI - not everybody has Internet or a home network with WiFi. The book says that if you don't have WiFi, go to their website, but the website asks for your serial number and then your SSID from your home network and will go no further. OK, call the 24/7 help line to get a super secret Activation Code. OK, but the work workflow tree doesn't include any reference to entering an Activation code. OK - just bumble along. The sequence of inputs don't follow what is in the book. At one point it demands that I insert my USB. What USB? There is nothing in the book about a USB. OK, just escape out of that. Stumble along, and things do eventually work out. They really need to hand a new generator and their installation manual to a capable first time installer and notice where he gets tripped up.

Living in North Georgia Mountains is a dream fulfilled! Built our forever home in 2012 and put off buying a backup generator because of what I perceived the “high” and “unnecessary” costs would be. With mountain living comes power outages from time to time and as an avid hunter and fisherman with fruits of my outings in the freezer/refrigerator, along with our groceries, a Generac 22kw, Guardian Series, is a MUST HAVE! Great generator, have hat the 22 kw for 2 years. Just run into a situation with Hurricane Laura. Had to evacuate because of storm. If power goes out, generator kicks on. What if house gets damaged, Do I really want to be feeding electricity to the house. No way to shut off remotely. Something to think about. Put something in the mobile link to kill generator by remote.
