We have had our generator for a month and only had to use it once for five minutes during a brief lightning storm. It performed as expected. The engine noise is somewhat louder than I expected but is not an annoyance. Having this generator has given us much needed peace of mind. An investment that is truly worth the money and value.

Nice looking unit. Noisier than I though it would be. Install took longer than it should have due to installer showing up with out necessary parts on a Friday and then had to wait till the following Monday to finish. Once installed unit fired up promptly and the "simulated" power outage had the unit start and within a few seconds the house had power. Obviously won't know how well it really works until an actual emergency and hopefully it works as promised. Wi-Fi set up SUCKs big time. NONE of the provided booklets explain it properly. Finally found a manual on-line (by Generac) that explained it. Why wasn't this manual provided with the paperwork? Wi-Fi still doesn't work and I'm not entirely sure why? Weak signal probably. Unit also a USB capability to update firmware but again NO manual explaining how that might work.

We could not be more pleased with our Generac automatic standby generator. When the unit performed the first weekly test, we were delightfully pleased with the ease of the transfer of power. The unit was also surprisingly quiet. This installation went very smoothly with Mohrmann Electric. They gave us exactly what they promised and worked very efficiently and neatly. They explained everything every step of the way. Fred, the owner, was a delight to deal with. He was kind, knowledgeable, professional and respectful. Also Laura, Meg, Theresa and Judy were so kind and helpful by answering all of our questions while they made us feel very comfortable along the way. Our Generac brings us peace of mind ensuring that our family will be protected from power outages especially during these trying times with Covid 19. Again, Mohrmann Electric and Generac “go together...anytime or weather!”

The installation process went without a hitch. Completely a one step process of selecting a Contractor for the entire job. I bought the full system plus propane tank and it was all installed in one morning with no problems including trenching for the gas line of 90 feet. The system started right up and they instructed me on the use of the system very clearly. The simplicity was astounding and the features of surge protection and load dropping and addition fully automatic. I was impressed. Never in my 80 years have I seen such an install of this complexity go so smoothly.

I had the 22kw unit installed recently. A few days after it was installed our power went out. It started up right away and we all the electrical power we needed. I recommend the unit to my brother and he bought it and is very satisfied with his purchase. I would recommend the 22kw unit model 6551 to anyone.

Even thou I have only had a few days but I know it will be worth it. I purchased the 22kw and my mother in-law purchased a 14kw a year ago and couldn't be happier. There are probably 50 of these Generac's in our neighbor hood. The dealer had in all installed in about 5 hours!

Always wanted a whole home generator for my home especially since my wife requires oxygen most of the time. We finally had one installed the other day and we are completely happy with the unit. Plenty of power to take care of our home and it was a very quick and clean install---our local electrical contractor (Mathers Electric) did wonderful, neat work. The generator fired up on the first try and worked perfectly--I couldn't be happier. We looked at plenty of other generator models/companies before we decided, but Generac has always had a great reputation for reliability and so far, they have proven it!

We did a lot of research on standby generators and decided on the Generac 22kw. At first, we weren't so sure Generac was the brand for us. There had been a number of complaints. Our dealer explained that early on the Evolution control board was failing. But the issue was resolved. We took him on his word and glad we did. Four days after it was installed, the Seattle area was hammered with over a foot of snow and power went out. Generator kicked on and stayed on for the next 10 hours. Power was restored for around 3 hours and went back out. Generator kicked on and ran for another 12 hours. We rely on a pump grinder to discharge sewage. Without power, we get 10 flushes from our toilet. Wife demands that system work! So far, Generac has made us a believer. We live on a island and the other thing that sold us was parts are plentiful. Not so much with other brands. The free mobile link is nice but highly limited. To get full use of its features you have to pay a monthly fee. We highly recommend this generator.

While we have not had any power outages so far since installation, I am confident the Generac will provide peace of mind when it powers up to keep our home functioning during an outage. Starting and running 5 minutes each week is a confidence builder that it is ready to be put into use.
