Steaks were tasty, but probably about a quarter of each steak was either gristle or impossibly tough. We chewed as long as we could, but eventually had no choice but to spit it out.

We have bought these strip steaks from Sams for 4-5 years. There have been times when the meat is tender and delicious. Over the last few years, quality has been madly inconsistent. There have been grisle and tendon strings running through the long centers of the steaks, dryness and tough chewing. Our latest disappointments were strips bought on March 22, 2022 in the Hendersonville NC store. We froze some and tried another last night. Same problems! I would take them back except the receipts are gone.

I used to love these. Now i will never purchase. The meat was horrible! It was like fake meat. It was bright pink! Never got red, left in fridge, never changed color. When i cooked it on grill it never browned. It cooked into white pork chop! No rare. Not even on grill 3 min. Fat fell off sides like it was glued on. Not cow meat? It was tough, dry, like a pork chop. Will never buy again. This is NOT USDA choice! Its fake rubber meat. Never wrote bad review, but total waste of money. Tasted like blood in meat replaced with chemicals

Wow. I was shocked by how tough this steak was. I was looking for Ribeye, but they were all out. I have had the strip steak from Aldi, and while it is not my favorite cut, it do-able. Not this, however. It was some of the worst steak I have ever had.

Little taste and tough. Paid less at a local grocery store and the strip steaks were tender and delicious. Must have been an old cow.

Once in a while you get a steak with a little too much fat but I just use it for a really tender stir fry.

For a New York Strip steak it sure has a lot of gristle & fat on it, never had that on a NY Strip before.

Sticker said superior marbling. Did not look bad, but results were no taste and extremely tough even after marinating. Would not buy again. .

Not that great but we'll seasoned and some Adolph's meat tenderizer 15 minutes before grilling and not bad
