Although there was some confusion at the pick-up, I managed to get the battery purchased. Battery fits my tractor as I expected and provided power for that first start - no problems. Price was much better than competitors for similar quality. Long term durability remains to be seen but so far it's just what I needed.

I bought one new in April 2016 and only need to replace it this year, 7 years later. 7 years! I charged it a couple times during each winter, usually around end of Dec and again at end of Feb. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. Maybe I just got a good one? My 2016 version was 275 CCA. Not sure what the CCA is on these now. I see the cheaper brands at other places are as little as 215 CCA for around same price as these at Sam's.

This is the THIRD Duracell U1 I have had to replace in as many seasons. Battery lasts just beyond 6 month free replacement period (9-12 months) and voltage drops significantly and needs recharging. Has shown repeated failure to start at 1 yr since purchase date, despite higher (365CCA @32) CCA.

The reviews are true. This battery will not hold its charge after a few months. I bought this in March 2021 and died mid-Aug 2021. I even installed a battery tender, but did not need it. It did not make to the winter months. You get what you pay for. Do not waste your money and your time on installing / reinstalling / driving to the store. So much for the copper top!

A 300 CCA battery for garden tractors is a must for me. Of all the 12v batteries I have bought or came as standard equipment, the Duracell has performed best and last longest. This battery is great for portable installations too. Like pumps/sprayers/electric fence chargers. Please keep selling Duracell. A premium battery at a fair price.

My battery is 5 years old now and still performing like new. I attribute that to one simple thing; it's connected to a cheap (9 bucks) automatic float charger from Harbor Freight whenever my mower is parked. Lawn tractors aren't used that often so putting the battery on float charger makes all the difference in the world.

I have had this battery less than a year and it has died. I bought it for a whole house generator and it stayed on a trickle charger. I have had smaller batteries on portable generators that stayed on trickle chargers for a few years with no problems. I don't recommend this battery.

I've replace four of these Duracell batteries. on our riding mower in four years. I even tried a competing brand and it worked no better. They all lasted less than a year. Like many I put them on a trickle charger over the winter and store them indoors. It made no difference. I also had the mower's electrical system checked. There were no issues. Very disappointing.

I have no problems with these. Stronger cranking amps. Peeps with troubles with these, really need to check the battery connections and cables. Especially the ground where it connects to chassis. Fought a charging problem on a Craftsmen changing lots of stuff. Wound up being that connection to the frame. Remove, clean and burnish, reinstall. Oh and its best to disconnect it in winter and recharge before first use. Same thing on your car, the alternator is not there to recharge your battery but simply to maintain a charge.

My first Duracell battery was purchased on 8/11/2016 and lasted until 5/3/2021 when I bought another. Since buying a smart charger in 2018, I routinely use it to charge the Duracell periodically throughout the year in addition to when I service my lawnmower. The smart charger cleans the lead plates of sulfate thus restoring lost voltage. Failure to maintain your battery will result in a shorter battery life.
