Good quality, easy to assemble, looks good. Shipping process wasn't great. Several pieces were damaged in shipment, however Backyard Discovery is very quick to fix their mistake and send replacements overnight for no charge. Delayed installation a bit, but was thankful for the no hassle.

Nice product , took the wife and I about 8 hours to put this together , the temperature was in the 90’s. The instructions are easy to follow and you won’t be disappointed. Just buy it !

Arrived with no damage. Easy instructions. Need two people due to weight, but completed set up in 12 hours. Exactly want we wanted. Nice height. We sit out on deck a lot as we live on waterfront property. Nice shade, can open if needed.

I bought this a month ago and got it installed. Backyard Discovery did a great job with the instructions, really made building it go smoothly. The Pergola itself is awesome, the finish looks great on it and it feels like something way more high priced than we paid for. The quality of the steel is great on it and the opening and closing of the top works really well. We did struggle with the some concrete anchors breaking during the drilling and that was with using the recommended pilot hole and taping off the depth. I would recommend stronger concrete bolts. Drainage works well and the power adapter is really neat. We ended up mounting a fan on it and it made the space really nice.

We’ve now had our pergola installed a few weeks! My favorite part of our new deck! The ability to have shade or partial sun is awesome! We were also able to implement this 10x16 pergola into our new railing so it looks awesome! With the rug and furniture it makes our deck life so comfortable and cozy! We added an 8x10 shade to the west side to block the evening suns which is a great addition. We love it!

This Sarasota Pergola was and is incredible! Instructions were perfectly explained and the parts are of complete quality and fit very nicely together!!! Very nice job Backyard Discovery!!! I have been a fabricator my whole life and this was executed beautifully!!!!!!!!

The best pergola and/or gazebo I’ve ever put up with my son! Installed on 5/30/26, only took 4 hours with 2 people! Very heavy duty, I would change anything about it. My only criticism would be for you to add at the beginning of the instructions “determine where you want the louver mechanism” so they can determine where to start with the first post. Can anyone tell me what the metal fold out shelf is on the electrical box? Is it a shelf for cell phones? Missing a few rubber nubs that go on the end of the louvers, how can I get more? So great, so heavy duty….I’m extremely happy and so is my family and pets for shade!!!! Has anyone installed roll up/down shades? If so and you like end result, can you reply with what brand?

Very nice product. Install wasn’t too bad. I did it by myself in a day. I should have had a second set of hands to raise the beams but I made it work. Quality is nice. So far so good. No wind or major storms, I angled the louvers in direction of the winds so it doesn’t catch and pull.

Just had it delivered yesterday and got almost halfway thru the assembly today and hit a dead end due to missing parts. I am missing the gutter splices, 2 of them. I have this scattered all over my yard in the middle of assembly and not happy. I hired someone to help as well and can’t complete job. I called the number provided for missing parts and since it is the weekend they can’t get parts out until Monday hopefully

The pergola arrived quickly and looked beautiful once assembled. We have now owned it for one year. Unfortunately, it is constructed of thin, low‑quality metal, and within just a few weeks of installation, wind caused the structure to lean and resulted in two broken louvers. We consistently followed the manufacturer’s instructions and ensured the louvers were kept in the vertical position during windy conditions. My husband is a contractor with extensive experience building homes and took great care during assembly. Throughout the process, he expressed concerns about the lightweight metal and questioned whether it would withstand high winds—concerns that unfortunately proved to be valid. We have since noticed Backyard Discovery's website that they have added corner braces to newer versions of this pergola, which suggests the company may have recognized durability issues with the design we purchased. We live in Colorado, where sustained winds of 10–30 mph are common, with occasional gusts reaching up to 70 mph. Despite being advertised as capable of withstanding winds up to 100 mph, this pergola has clearly not met that standard in our experience. My husband ultimately had to tie it down to prevent further leaning. I plan to contact Sam’s Club to see if a return or resolution is possible. If neither Sam’s Club nor Backyard Discovery is willing to make this right, this will result in a loss of over $2,000 for a product that did not perform as advertised.
