[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Beautyrest Black mattress is a beautifully made high quality mattress. The medium support mattress is designed to have just the right amount of pressure relief. The top feels very soft and plush. However, in my experience even though it’s medium support with a soft feeling top, it still feels a bit too firm for me while I sleep. I usually sleep on a mattress with a pillowtop so I’m probably used to the extra plushness. The top also has large indentations that are too wide and deep. When I’m moving around I can feel the indentations with my feet. It’s kind of annoying. Maybe it’s just me. Otherwise it is a very nice, quality mattress. I think this mattress would be perfect for someone that wants medium support but doesn’t require the extra plushness on top.

I have ankylosing spondylitis and also don’t weigh much, meaning most beds, even “plush”, are too firm for me. This is just right. And the support strap in the middle helps more than you realize. I went back to the store several times to lay on it before buying. The 3rd time I almost fell asleep.

I wanted to be IN the bed, not ON the bed, and this mattress feels like a dream! The pillowtop holds me like a baby. Somehow this mattress is soft and supportive at the same time. It pulls you in and holds you just right. Worth every penny. I also got an adjustable base with massage & zero gravity position and I’m absolutely in love! Laying in bed too long doesn’t hurt anymore!

No more tossing and turning it felt supportive as well as plush. The best of both worlds. Don’t walk but run and get this mattress!!!

Ordered the Plush Pillow Top Queen size. It's very plush, comfortable, and supportive. I don't wake up with hip pain or lower back pain anymore. Price is kinda insane, though -- luckily, it was $600 off when I bought it, plus a $400 Sam's gift card with purchase. It also runs a little hot, although it's advertised as being cool, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

It has just the right amount of softness, but yet still firm. I will never own a different mattress!! I love the black color as well!! It sits up nice & high which makes it look & feel even better!! We are VERY pleased!! 100/10 recommend!!

The first night my hips hurt (I’m a side sleeper). After a few more nights it became more and more comfortable. We bought a box spring to set the mattress on. The result was a bed so high I need a step to climb onto the bed. We will take the box spring off; after my husband’s back recovers from putting the mattress on the bed. I think the mattress must weigh at least 400lbs! Next time we will pay the extra money and let some young healthy men do the heavy lifting.

Had a great first night sleep. Also purchased Sleepy's Elite adjustable frame. Control is an electronic pad. Jury is still out on the control. Certainly didn't need another electronic device and I can't operate it in the middle of the night with my eye closed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LITERALLY HEAVEN IN A BED. I have never felt a mattress with so much sturdiness and comfort in one. It supports my back like a literal dream not caving in like normal mattresses do! Keeps me cool all night and sleep is wonderful again.

After our previous Beautyrest mattress failed, we got the black in series 3, firm. My husband and I bought it about 3-4 months ago. Long story short, it failed. There are two dents in the bed from us. Had the inspector come today and confirm the mattress had failed. It also is advertised as "firm", but is a "medium". Even as a medium, there should not be two big dents in the bed now. Beautyrest quality has drastically declined, and the beds are mostly stuffed with soft garbage, it seems. We are done with this brand. This is sad, because it once was a coveted mattress brand. Now they just produce trash that fails. We will be going to a private and local mattress company. Will be getting a simple, no frills mattress. Zero padding and definitely no pillow top. A firm, old-fashioned mattress is the best. I thought this bed would be it, but I should have known it had too much padding. I would definitely consider an old Beautyrest model, if still sold as new. Note: we are average weight people, and the bed looks like two cows slept in it. He is 6+ft/200, I am 5'4/125.
