We appreciate your feedback. Our JBL Tune 770NC has a noise cancelling feature and this feature works even without music since our headphones have an outward-facing microphone that detects external sounds cancelling the external sounds before you hear them. You may expect that high-pitch noise can't be blocked out and ambient noise works well in cancelling sounds even without music.
