It only took a few hours to put it together. All pieces/parts were included. Waiting on outdoor furniture to arrive and will add lights soon. If you’re on the fence about this purchase, I highly recommend!

I finally bought this pergola and my husband and sons put it together and it looked beautiful.... for a while. I put a green metal roof on mine because it sits around trees. Still beautiful, but the woodpeckers LOVE this wood. I have holes everywhere even with a fake owl and a wind chime. Then one fall day, a tree branch came down and smashed one side. My husband says he can repair it. I had ceramic tile and lights under the top and loved its look. Hope it can be rehabbed. Good purchase if found on a deal. Woodpeckers will destroy it.

Our home is always changing--inside & out; & every change creates a new "pop":. This time we added a room!! It all started after switching out the last section of old board decking to brick, matching the rest of the existing bricked deck--improving both the look & function of our yard. But, looking out at the expanse of this all brick deck, even with colorful furniture & our usual riot of plants, something was missing. Somehow, we needed to frame that section, a place where we entertain and also shelter a lot of plants. (I'm a gardener). It's Florida; summer sun is merciless on human skin and, more importantly, all of our plants shriveling in our summer heat; they can't hop up and escape into the AC. What we needed was a pretty shelter from direct sun; we needed a pergola! And this baby is a champ. Ordering was easy, the perfect size for our spot, delivery on time; my husband Bill added 2 applications of weather coating, we hired the brick guys to assemble it (we are old :-)). And now we have more than a pergola; it is a ROOM-- partly nestled under our old magnolia, decorated by our happy shaded plants, and furnished by our colorful furniture (I am a painter), the pergola frames it all and creates the perfect space whose form is lovely and which functions to give us what we needed: a solid, sturdy, shade-providing structure. We already have subprojects planned: our copper pelican perches on the top corner; to add even more shade, we are installing lattice panels over the widely spaced roof slats, and we are adding electric outlets for some good old Florida fans, also hanging solar lights to line the top structure. I bought this pergola direct from Backyard Discoveries and the pergola itself is fantastic. Fairly easy to assemble, my 19 yo daughter did most of it. I read a lot of the reviews that said the holes did not line up or that the hardware was junk. I did not find that to be the case at all. In fact I don't think you can build this for the price you get it for here. The hardware is not stainless, however it is powder coated and I did not have any problem stripping anything. It is very adequate and not cheap. The wood itself is Chinese ceder, It's not western red but for the price point It was fairly straight, and any minor twists are easily worked out as you build. I pre stained the wood with Olympic stain and seal #716. It was almost a perfect match. The pergola assembled looks fantastic!! My reason for only 4 stars is the use of YRC freight to ship this product. I know this is not directly related to the pergola or Backyard Discovery but please find a better company to work with. They were awful. They never called to let me know our appointment was not gonna happen and I lost a day of work. The shipment arrive 10 days later than our original appointment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this pergola back in May for my back yard patio. I wanted to spend most of my time this summer relaxing. This pergola did not disappoint!! My 17 year old grandson and his friend and I put it together in 2 days. It was very easy to put together and the memories we created was priceless!! Defiantly worth the money!!

Just got this erected last week and couldn’t be happier. I had someone do the installation, but it was fast and had all the parts/good instructions. My carpenter said he could not have bought the lumber for this price and I saved a bunch on labor since all the wood is pre-cut. I do recommend sealing it before putting it up to avoid having to contort on a ladder. Now if my furniture would just arrive!

Mine has been up for 2 months now and it has completely transformed my patio. Installation is a breeze if you can follow simple directions and take your time. My wife and I put our pergola together in about 4-5 hours. The quality of the materials is much more nicer than any other pergola kit I have seen at the big box stores, I’m confident it will last for many years.

I bought this a month ago and am pretty happy with the product. Instructions were good, but with warped wood for some pieces, the hardware was barely connecting. We found it easier to assemble the frame upside down, and it would have been better to assemble right next to the final location due to the weight.

I am not one who usually writes reviews for items that I buy. But I want anyone who is thinking about this product to feel assured it will far exceed your expectations. I am thrilled with this pergola. It has added so much to our backyard. countless compliments from everyone who sees it. the quality of the wood and fasteners is top notch. . The ease of assembly is not often found in todays products. I would highly recommend this company for their customer service is very responsive and polite.

I never leave reviews. And I'm the person that wondered why people say that. I assumed it's either because they may be trying to persuade someone either or way, who may be on the fence about buying a product. They are satisfied or dissatisfied. In this case, I am highly satisfied. The pergola is great. A few minor cracks in one of the 4 main corner posts, due to shipping I am assuming. I didn't call or complain, I didn't notice to I had put it up. It should be okay. I bought 2 months ago. It's been up a month now. Took about 7 hours over two days. I did alone. I had my wife to the corner post once I stood each side up. I attached all the separated parts together first in the garage. Then moved to the outside to set up. Went very smoothly.
