I have been considering buying a Food Saver for quite a while but I wasn’t sure it would be worth the money. It’s easy to use for the vacuum and seal part but trying to evenly cut the plastic material from the roll that came with it was next to impossible and very time consuming. I found rolls of material online that were in a box with a slide cutter. This isn’t the name brand but the material seems to be just as good. If I had to cut the Food Saver bags off the roll every time I would probably throw the whole thing in the trash. Luckily I found the bag material with a cutter. The actual vacuum sealer machine works great so far. Do yourself favor and find rolls of bag material online with a cutter on the box. Then the whole process is much more streamlined.

this is my 3rd sealer I have used the machine constantly. Purchase large packages of meats, cheeses and produce. Break them down into smaller packages and seal them up. I find that if I prefreeze meats and then vacuum seal them I have less of a mess during the sealing process.

We bought this on sale as our original food saver is starting to go out. The original was a wedding present and still going kinda strong, but has its moments. I tried out the new one to be sure it works and it's a little easier to handle and a bit more quiet. I liked using it and packaging my meats was really quick and easy. I haven't used the piece for the bags yet, but it will just be a bonus if I decide to try it out. I will always recommend food saver!

Love it, works better than the older styles with the exception it doesn’t have the roll cutter! But my wife likes it so that’s all that counts!!

I Bought one of these for My Mom just about a year ago works ok except I went to use it the other day and the attachment you plug into the top for the zipper bags broke and of course you cant buy a replacement for it nobody that sells the machine carries them not to mention that unit is no longer made it is different and i am not going to pay another 200.00 for a new machine. the warrantee was useless only good for a year but how long was the unit in the store before i bought it? would give a better rating if people made things that lasted. now i just have a sealer that is not usable for zip bags.

I purchased 2 VS2200 type units and both have the same malfunction. The 'extra wide sealing strip' only seals a strip 1/16 inch wide ,which is way too narrow to ensure a dependable seal.Will try again from a different store for I really do like the Foods Saver products and was happy with the unit that I have had for many years. It gave me good service.

I have been wanting one for a while now. and after using it for a few times, I seem to be going through more bags because they do not seal properly or the seal brakes I almost feel like it was a waste money and time. I wish I could return the product but I have had it for over a couple of months now.

Have owned a food saver for 10 years and always loved. Wanted to replace old with a new product because I loved it. I used new one twice and now pulled old one out. Terrible product. No suction. Very disappointed

Broke the first time I tried to use it. Vaccum wouldn't work. Could hear rattling in base like something broke.

I bought this in June of 2024. It is an absolute piece of JUNK! Bags will not seal unless you hold down on the top. Off brand bags will not work at all. Waste of money, time and effort. Even when using food saver bag you have to cut more than the three inches extra as suggested to get a seal. I do not recommend this item.
