A perfect fit in my pickup bed.

As an Oregon State Beavers football fan, the color scheme is a hit. The generator fits perfectly in my pickup bed. I can close the trifold bed cover with room to spare. I wanted a pull start generator, because the self start requires an expensive battery. Go Generac!Giudo

This product ran great!

Bought this generator after storm hit central Wisconsin in mid July. I ran the generator for 6 days straight keeping my freezer, refrigerator and some lights, until the power came back on.I am very impressed how quiet it ran ,and without any problems .Good product.!

Starts on first pull

Great little generator and best price out there.I'm 66 years old and hard hearing but standing right next to it and carrying on conversation with no problems hearing over generator.Easy start first pull and does the job for my 5th wheel camper.Runs everything but the air.

Good things come in small packages!

We have lived in the same older home since 1970 and it has a perpetual wet basement. The sump pump runs MANY times during the day. Just recently the electricity was off for several hours 2 times within a week. After struggling to get the old generator in position and operating we decided enough! We needed a more portable generator that was lightweight and easy to handle. This one fit all our needs. It is really quiet and has two outlets which are enough for our basic needs. Really like that it shows how much power it is using for operating the sump pump to see what it is left to use for something else.

Cranks and runs Quite

Arrived on time, set up easy and breaking when smooth. I which there was an oil attachment for discharge when changing the oil...As others have stated I agree this price should include a wheel system why pay to another for their adapted kit.?? ME i placed my on a furniture move cart and it work just fine...

Very adequate as a home backup

I purchased two 3000i generators as emergency backup power for my home and my daughter's home. I wanted to run emergency power for two refrigerators, one freezer and outlets in my office for tv, computer, usb charging and minimal led lighting. I hired an electrician to install a sub-panel and inlet for the generator to handle the 4 circuits I wanted to use. I checked the power needs for all the appliances. Since it weighs 60lbs I bought a cart for it and it is very easy to move from the garage to the outdoor sub-panel. All I have to do when the power goes out is to turn off a 50 amp breaker in the main and sub panels, turn on a 30 amp breaker in the sub-panel, plug in the generator and turn on each of the four circuits one at a time to make sure there is no overload. We tested the generator over a period of an hour with all four circuits on. It worked great and surged only slightly when one or more of the appliances cycled. The cost for parts and labor from the electrician was about $1000.00. I strongly recommend a professional installation. You can have serious problems if not installed correctly. It is comforting to know that our families food supply is protected and our communications equipment will function during a blackout. To accomplish all this the generator would only need to run 4 hours a day when the monitors on the appliances show a need to cycle. At a 50% load that is only 1 gallon of fuel per day. Communications equip. would be used in that 4 hour window. I found the build quality excellent. The only change I would make is to make the oil access door bigger and smooth the edges of the opening. It is difficult to get a big hand in and remove the oil fill/check plug. It started first pull and ran very smooth and quiet.

Flawed Product

I purchased this unit 6 months ago from menards.com. Overall, this seems to be a good generator with the features necessary to support sensitive electronics and it is very quiet. However, it has some production flaws. The first thing I noticed is that the exhaust pipe does not line up with the grill that covers it. After a run of several hours, I'm guessing that the plastic grill will be melted where the exhaust pipe is pointing. The second thing I noticed is related to the maintenance of the unit. The oil drain for the unit does not actually exit the outside casing of the unit, leaving it up to your creativity how you are going to get the oil to drain out of the unit without making a mess on the inside of it. If someone has some suggestions to make this process clean and simple, I may increase the product rating slightly. So far a search of FAQs on Generac's website and a thorough search through the internet has not amounted to anything. The third thing I'll make note of is the quality. After just 6 months and 2 uses, the electric start on the unit no longer works.

Tickled pink!! This generator is awesome!!

Just bought this generator and I am so pleased. It is exactly as described. Runs my whole camper 13,500 BTU AC all lights etc. Runs nice and quiet. For the money I haven't seen a better product on the market. Comes with all you need to get started including a funnel to put the oil in the generator. I invited my neighbor over to check out my new generator for camping and he's already left to go order one online like I did. I'll come back and update this review after a few months of use and let you know if I am still happy with this generator. Thanks Generac for what I believe is going to be an awesome generator from what I have seen thus far.

My review*

I give Value for the Price an average rating only due to my price point was $800 instead of $700.$719. If I had it shipped to me it may have been around the same price in the long run. If not more. Any how I am impressed. It was easy to add oil as well as fuel. Just as easy to start. Basically I purchased this generator for camping. Which should suit all my power needs. When more power is needed. I'll just buy another and run a parallel connection. But I got my eye on the GP 6500.
