The Filet mignon was always trimmed very well only at this particular Sam's Club where I shopped. Any of the meat I bought from this (Matthews) warehouse doesn't fail to satisfy. I have been shopping in this warehouse for the meat. Consistently of great quality especially the way the meat are trimmed. In this location the butchers are doing a great job! Please keep up the good work.

Horrible quality. Of course, they want the presentation to look good but what they hid on the underside should be criminal. I'll have to say that we buy quite a bit of meat from Sam's and this is the first time that I've experienced such a deceptive practice. I understand that they want to present the best side of the meat but this should have been made into ground beef rather sold as quality filets.

Very low quality cut with a lot of fat and silver skin that required a lot of trimming. Some of the hard fat was in the middle and could not be trimmed. Sadly those trimmings are included in the price. Sam's butchers must me giving the better pieces to local restaurants.

First, it shouldn't be labeled as filet mignon, since the scrap meat that runs down the side of the filet, called the chain, is not removed and adds extra, unusable weight further increasing the price per pound. The trimmed steaks are wonderful but too expensive. Where I used to buy a package every week, I can now only afford maybe once every couple of months.

I thought they tasted wonderful. Salt %26 pepper, cooked on high for 2 minutes on each side. Basted with butter, garlic, and dried thyme. Nice crisp crust and very tender. It is expensive but everything is now. $32 for 1.7 lbs, but it was a nice treat.

Not as good as previous purchases of the same item. Fattier.

I should have bought prime or the entire prime tenderloin
