At a time when beef is not particularly budget friendly and I feel like some stores and restaurants may be passing lower cuts off as premium to help sales, I was very pleased with my purchase of filets from Sam's. Those were the steaks you hope to get when buying premium meats. My next filets will come from Sam's!

Reasonably priced and very tender. I grilled them and topped them with bernaise sauce. Simply delicious. There are so many great recipes that you can use for this versatile cut of beef.

I've purchased this a few times now and it's about 50/50. if I am having to cut off a couple pounds of white hard stuff @ $65-$70 and then encounter a vein of white hard stuff running through the middle of the filet, why am I paying the premium price?

Have regularly purchased this item for more than a decade. For some unexplainable reason the taste has deteriorated. Taste is subjective but there seems to be a more “gamey” quality. Secondly, the ongoing failure to properly trim runs counter to what is generally regarded as “fillet”. My second last purchase of this item had 7% (food scale measured) fat as well as smaller pieces attached but not butcher removed sections that are classified “fillet”.

They were okay, just a couple of minor things. One of the steaks had a little gristle on it, and i wish the steaks in the packages were more uniform in size. In this package, one steak (hiding under the price sticker, of course) was substantially smaller than the other 3... and it just happened that that was the gristly one, too. Generally speaking, though, they were fine.

The filets were full of grizzle and half of the steaks were uneatable 😢

I have only purchased tenderloin steak from Sam for almost 30 years because the quality was always excellent and consistent no matter which Sam I bought them from. Twice now I have been very disappointed due to chewy stringy texture of their tenderloin steaks. With the price of beef I will no longer be buying Sam steaks.

We were shocked at the horrible quality of our recent purchase of your filet mignon! It was mushy! Made for a very bad “date night”!for my hubby and me. They did refund our money, but as a devoted member since 1998, we can't help but wonder what's happening to Sam's quality control. This isn't the first time, unfortunately.

$75.00…The front of the package looked perfect. But when I took the fillets out and flipped them over, they were full of fat. i trimmed it all off & I will be returning the bag of fat that I have, which is equal to at least one fillet. Disgusting practice I did write to the company about it, but I have not received any correspondence yet.

Horrible quality. Of course, they want the presentation to look good but what they hid on the underside should be criminal. I'll have to say that we buy quite a bit of meat from Sam's and this is the first time that I've experienced such a deceptive practice. I understand that they want to present the best side of the meat but this should have been made into ground beef rather sold as quality filets.
