First, it shouldn't be labeled as filet mignon, since the scrap meat that runs down the side of the filet, called the chain, is not removed and adds extra, unusable weight further increasing the price per pound. The trimmed steaks are wonderful but too expensive. Where I used to buy a package every week, I can now only afford maybe once every couple of months.

I've purchased this a few times now and it's about 50/50. if I am having to cut off a couple pounds of white hard stuff @ $65-$70 and then encounter a vein of white hard stuff running through the middle of the filet, why am I paying the premium price?

I have only purchased tenderloin steak from Sam for almost 30 years because the quality was always excellent and consistent no matter which Sam I bought them from. Twice now I have been very disappointed due to chewy stringy texture of their tenderloin steaks. With the price of beef I will no longer be buying Sam steaks.

Fantastic steaks but they are not trimmed once you get home you will have to trim the fat off. I lost about 4 ounces of meat.

These looked like filets in the package, when I took them out and cooked them they did not seem like a filet at all. They had fat hidden under and were not tender at all. I honestly thought it was labeled wrong

We were shocked at the horrible quality of our recent purchase of your filet mignon! It was mushy! Made for a very bad “date night”!for my hubby and me. They did refund our money, but as a devoted member since 1998, we can’t help but wonder what’s happening to Sam’s quality control. This isn’t the first time, unfortunately.

We have always bought the loin and cut our own but didn’t do that and picked this up for a quick dinner. To my great disappointment I think this was fake meat. 🤷‍♂️ I have never seen anything like that in my life! After cooking it was like mushy, sponging and gross. Threw it away and haven’t tried to get my $ back. Makes me question what the heck it was.

$75.00…The front of the package looked perfect. But when I took the fillets out and flipped them over, they were full of fat. i trimmed it all off & I will be returning the bag of fat that I have, which is equal to at least one fillet. Disgusting practice I did write to the company about it, but I have not received any correspondence yet.

Horrible quality. Of course, they want the presentation to look good but what they hid on the underside should be criminal. I’ll have to say that we buy quite a bit of meat from Sam’s and this is the first time that I’ve experienced such a deceptive practice. I understand that they want to present the best side of the meat but this should have been made into ground beef rather sold as quality filets.

I have purchased this type of meat in the past and have never had an issue with it. This meat was probably the worst I have ever purchased at a store. It was mushy and the texture was almost like it wasn't real meat
