I love everything about this trash can! Since I bought it a couple of months ago I haven’t had to clean it once! Also, more trash can fit into each bag since the seal that holds bag in place is so good! You really get the most out of every bag! The only thing that I don’t like is how touchy the sensors are. Every time we walk past the kitchen can it opens and closes but I still haven’t had to replace the batteries at least. It can be annoying tho, which is why I didn’t give it the full 5 stars.

With my old trash can which had a rotating top I still took the top off before I started cooking & it was always in someone's way. I put batteries in it when I got it & haven't had to change them in 3 months. FYI the small can takes D batteries & the big can takes Cs. When I purchased online the listing said only Ds.

Takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it, it works every time. Wish they had a smaller version that allows me to open the drawers behind it, and so we could clear it every day without wasting larger bags. That would also help minimize decomposing trash inside the bin. Great value as I got it on sale, paired with the soap dispenser, under forty bucks combined.

Also it opens with it wants to not when u need it to. The sensor is really messed up. I think its a light issue but im not sure. Also the on and off switch is in the trash can. Not a good look. Buyer beware.

This is the first time I've had a trash can with a sensor for opening, and I really like it...I just have to remember not to toss something across the room into the trash...no more 3 pointers!

Now that I have moved, I gave my old large can to my daughter and put the little one in my new guest bathroom. I bought this set so I have a new kitchen can and the little one is now in my new bath room. The original set is about 2 years old. The little can still has the original batteries in it and is showing no signs of dying anytime soon. With the large can the battery door fell off one day and wound up going out with the trash by accident. I do not think it was a malfunction of the product, it was most likely my son messing around with it. If I thought the can was faulty I would not have bought a secon...

So I did I put the new batteries in and turned it on and it began doing the same thing. It's really a shame this is not a cheap garbage. I am very dissapointe.

I have had the set for years. The kitchen lid finally began to get tired after all this time. I tried to go with a different type.... I couldn't take it!! I have to buy another set. I miss them. They have always worked well. The lid does a good job opening when I need it to open but stays closed for my dog. The stainless steel was good quality, cleaned up easily with Meyers or water and vinegar. It didn't leave a bunch of finger prints the second you looked at it. I'm very happy to find a replacement!

That is a truck delivery issue and not a product review. I also do not like reviews that say whether or not the product is great after 2 hours of receiving it. Big deal. My reason for buying a product is: over time, how does it hold up? Saying all that, my family loves the touchless trashcans, especially the larger model. In the kitchen, we are frequently with dirty hands or messy from mixing eggs, wiping runny kids noses, etc. How freeing to only move your hand in front of the sensor so we don't have to touch the trash can...

The larger one's sensor is not that good, it takes multiple tries to have it sense some motion and then it lands up hitting my hands. It takes long to open up even after sensing. I usually just leave it open. The smaller one is great. Very accurate and quick. Overall I am happy for what I got considering the price.
For $49 it was a great deal

So far everything has worked fine. I can tell that the batteries will not last too long. It is not the most sturdy can I have ever seen, but is adequate. The soap dispenser works fine too-also getting the kids to wash hands! It needs some weight in the bottom. So I will keep it filled and that should work.

I bought another one of these by Nine Stars and loved it so much, I bought the set that includes two more. I would have given 5 stars but my larger garbage can came with a big dent in it and I didn't want to send it back because it was already a day late with delivery. That is Walmart's carrier's fault, not Nine Stars. I'd recommend these garbage cans. I find myself wanting to throw things away just to play with it lol. In addition, the batteries last what seems like forever. The last garbage can I bought by Nine Stars I've had for 6 months and it's still running on the same batteries. Good Purchase!

Just have 4 C batteries on hand for the larger one and 4 D's for the small one. Yes, seems backward, but the larger one takes C's while the smaller one takes D's.

When you have your hands full of trash and don't have one free to lift a lid this trash can is awesome. Just stand in front of it and the lid lifts automatically. Changing the trash bag is a breeze. It has stayed in place with no problems so far. As far as the soap dispenser (from another review), there is an on/off switch located on the bottom. If you turn it on it works great. The hands free dispenser is fun to use and my toddler loves to wash his hands.

Smaller one died after replacing batteries once. Kitchen can lasted a while longer but the lid mechanism broke and there is no replacement option. Warranty is only for 30 days and it will last much longer than that. Mine finally died when the lid mechanism broke (plastic parts) but that was after several years. Replacement is more expensive now.
