I love everything about this trash can! Since I bought it a couple of months ago I haven’t had to clean it once! Also, more trash can fit into each bag since the seal that holds bag in place is so good! You really get the most out of every bag! The only thing that I don’t like is how touchy the sensors are. Every time we walk past the kitchen can it opens and closes but I still haven’t had to replace the batteries at least. It can be annoying tho, which is why I didn’t give it the full 5 stars.

- 4 out of 5 stars review3/9/2011I received my units in great shape three days after I ordered them. They were packed very well and the box was not damaged. After setting them up I have noticed that the kitchen trash can has a slow response and find that I have to move my hand very slowly to get it to open. The small trash can on the other hand has an immediate response to movement. I think the sensor on that one seems to be more responsive. Overall though the product is very good and I love the fact that you can push the Open button and the lid will remain open if you have a lot of trash. I give this 4 stars only because of the sensor on the kitchen trash can.

It has basically stopped working. I have changed the batteries, bought different new batteries in case the ones that I had at home were defective, and nothing has improved the situation. The light is blinking, but nothing happens when you move your hand over the sensor. There is a small handle on the top so you can open it manually, but that isn't really convenient and obviously I was looking for a product that didn't require me touching the garbage can lid every time I want to throw something away. I am trying to contact the manufacturer to see if I can get a replacement under the 1 year warranty, but I'm not feeling optimistic ab...

Looks great and saves you from struggling to open a trashcan when your hands are full. Also does a great job of sealing trashcan smells in.

Had the can for two months and the cover that holds the batteries in fell off into the trash. (odd design to put the batteries facing down into a trash can). Contacted company as it seems to be some sort of defect and they wanted no part of helping me. In fact after looking further into it the part itself is back ordered due to the ongoing issue. I contacted them a second time with the same results. Just ended up purchasing a different trash can in the end... There two many companies that look out for their customers to argue over a $5.00 part!! Look at other reviews on line, same issues.

It’s so nice not to have to touch the lid. The sensor won’t close on your hand if it takes you longer shoving something in better. This can is the same price or less as others it’s size but come with a free small sensor trash can that we use in our office. The large one comes with a switch to turn the sensor off and on. So if you go away a few weeks you can save your batteries. Large can takes C size and small takes D size.
Two for the price of one! Nice cans; great value!

Buy the nine stars trash can. Been using it now for 1 and a half years. Love it! Still using same batteries after 1.5 years. The liner works great! The trash can looks brand new on the inside after a year and a half of use in a family of five. Will never buy the plastic crap again. Do not hesitate to buy this trash can. You will never regret it. I'd give it 10 stars if it were an option.

Sometimes if you need to have the lid open for longer than just throwing something in the trash it will try and close on you which is annoying. Like if you are clearing food out of a pan or something like that. Biggest complaint i have is the mismatch in battery types. The large cans use "C" batteries, why do the little cans use "D" batteries? Seriously, just make them use the same battery type so i don't have to go purchase two different types of batteries. And really the lid on the small can is pretty lightweight does it really need "D" batteries? I haven't needed a "D" battery in ages, nothing I own uses them except for this now.

- 5 out of 5 stars review11/16/2015Love it!! Fits perfectly at the end of our cabinets. Looks great with our stainless appliances. It does take a few seconds for it to open once it detects the motion, took a little bit to get use to. You can easily hide the bag and love the "open" feature when I am cooking. Still have the original batteries in and it has been several months. I didn't need the small one so I sold it on Ebay for a great price, extra bonus.

- 5 out of 5 stars review1/9/2012I bought this set intending initially to simply replace the plastic can in my kitchen, but I was so glad to find the set. The large one is tall enough to allow you to fill up the bag completely and it has an inner ring that keeps the bag aligned and up. It should be noted that each can uses a different size battery. I had made the assumption that they both used "D", but am quite happy. I purchased mine about 2.5 months ago and I'm still on the first set of batteries. The small can is a great size for a bathroom. Mine is triggered by my dogs quite often as they walk by, but they are slowly getting used to it. I'd buy this set again and encourage my friends to as well.

I live in deep south Texas and we are still having 96 degree weather. The bugs dont like the heat any better that I do, surrounding the garbage can really be disgusting especially as it fills up. This kitchen can is very large, I was pleasantly surprised at the size. This can is not a cheapy looking can, the bags are 13 gallon The brushed silver is the same as my Frigidaier appliances. The lid opens as you put your hand on top of the can. It stays open plenty of time to scrap off the dishes. The lid closes tighly securing the trash from any smells and any bugs can not get into.
