I absolutely love this can when it works. Everyone in my family has them... grandparents, siblings, etc. The problem is that they just stop working after about 18 months to 2 years and you have to get a new one. Not that big of a deal for $50 and the convenience, but not great quality nonetheless.

I had to replace after 10 years, my sister damaged the Tall kitchen garbage can by putting kitty litter in where the electronics were in the lid. I was so upset, it works so nice when you have things in you hands and try not to get the lid dirty, when cooking or whatever, the lid comes right up with out having to touch it! It's great for my husband, the family members and guest, and it seems to in my house stay clean! The little one can is nice in the bathrooms, I moved the older one which is still in great shape and work like a charm into the boys bathroom and kept the newer one in my bathroom. Best investment! This brand last a very long time, I would have not had to buy a new one if it was not ruin by someone else. LOL I forgave her, but told her when she cleans to stay away from my new replacement!!!

The can is nice looking. But it has not opened or closed properly since I purchased it 2 months ago. Now it will not open or close at all except manually. The sensor nor the buttons operate it. Tried new batteries and still does not work at all. I have a $12 dollar sensor can that has given me no problems for 6 months, this one for $74 is a dud after 2 months.

Have been waiting to purchase an auto open trash can for a while. I pick this one and couldn't be happier. It is bigger than I thought it would be due to the top opening upwards instead of a swinging top that swings downward into the trash. It also matches all of my appliances!

Plain and Simple, just get this. Big Bin - size is plenty and works great, no hiccup or anything. Simple to use, nothing fancy but don't have problems, that's what I was looking for. The kept open feature is good. Sensor works as you would expect. If any object is still within sensor area, the cover won't close, that's a feature both small and big bins. But the Kept open feature is only for big bin. Small Bin - works great, everything as expected. Battery Life - been using for more than half a year (I forgot), at least couple of months, still holding up fine, no signs of low battery. I am using Duracell. 5/5 hands down. Improvement - Always room for improvement, if they can make the opening door / area bigger that would be Perfect. Especially useful when you want to dispose vacuum (i.e. canister) wastes. For me, I just take off the top and dump the wastes this way.

Walmart had these at my store exactly when they said they would. The trashcans seems to be better quality that what I could find locally. Even with battery power, the lids open very fast and close on there own. I definitely would recommend these to others.
