Bacon strips were very thin and narrow. They oozed a whitish substance during cooking that made it appear very unpalatable. Now, I usually make my own bacon, i just had ran out, so I knew this was going to be inferior, but didn't think it would be that bad... :(

This Hormel black label brand bacon some are whining about not getting crispy are cooking it incorrectly. There is a certain very famous restaurant in south Texas known for their incredible breakfast tacos that have bacon. I know they use this exact bacon because the owner brings it in every Tuesday through the front door, and sets it down momentarily by the first table where I always sit. This routine has gone on for more than a decade. They throw the bacon in a pot of Mazola corn oil heated to 350 and deep fry the bacon. It makes every nook and cranny, crispy perfect!!! It’s epic. I’ve weighed the fried pieces and they are usually 11 to 11.7 grams per fried slice.

Not thick cut as described. Thin, curls up and lots of bacon fat almost 1/2” in pan. If you want thick cut look for WRIGHT’S Bacon. Sams carries that and I tried this when it was not in stock. After cooking up the packet I now have a mason jar of bacon fat so not a total waste.

I would not have picked out that package my self. Too much green and not much hart. If they were all like that then the shopper had no choice, I would have passed them up for something ease I did not waste all the greens I put them in my chicken soup! .
