Always fresh and good balance of fat content for flavor yet not too much to be unhealthy.

The meat looked GREAT!  Until I started to break it up. The outer layer (only) was nice and fresh-looking; however, the inner part was brown and smelly.

Won't be buying this again...

Recently ground beef has changed.  We used to buy 80/20 ground beef that had great color and taste.  It seems now it has a duller color and not as tasty.  88/12 has great color and taste like "the old days".  My only "beef" with the packaging is the quantity: 4.8 pounds typically.  Why not 5 pounds even?
