not as lean as it use to be

We have been buying this beef for many years and it seems that for the last year or so this hamburger leaves a lot more grease in the pan than it use to. In fact there was never ANY grease in the pan when cooking burgers and now there is enough to actually cover the bottom of the pan and I have to pour it out. It even looks fattier than it use to. I'm not sure if it's just our store (Chattanooga) or all stores. Maybe next time we will try Knoxville. Also we use to buy the packaged burger instead of the ten pound tube but we noticed the tube was cheaper and the Sams butcher assured us it's the exact same burger. Anybody else notice this? I would say it's more like 80% lean instead of 90.

Several Bone Fragments

I have been buying the 90/10 ground beef from Sam's Club for quite a while and the last package I purchased had several bone fragments in it. It also tasted a bit off. I thought it was a fluke, so I purchased another container and had the same issue. What has changed? Why are we getting a poor tasting product suddenly that's full of boney pieces?

Not even close to a year ago!

I've always bought this at Sam's. But lately I've noticed in frying a lot of grease, which used to never happen. This was the reason I chose 90/10! The last 3 purchases, the meat looked really good in the packages but once it was opened, the real truth gets exposed, the older meat is obviously covered with fresher more red ground beef. Only reason it turns brownish is exposure to air. So it's not possible to be red on the outside and brown on the inside unless it's being mixed by the one packaging it. I've called Sam's about this, was given an apology, they stated this is not their practice. Yet, it's happened 3 times now and obviously IS their practice. Sorry Sam's, but that's a bit sketchy.

The meat on the outside looks good but it is brown in the inside. The last 5-6 times I purchased, it was this way. Of course i googled it and found that brown is more than likely normal. So, I just went with it. However my most recent purchase, red on outside. Kept in fridge one night and the next day it was brown and gray. It was completely rotten before the supposed expiration date. I will not be purchasing my ground beef from Sam’s anymore. The quality wasn’t always like this.

Should be called hamburger and water

I had not bought hamburger there for a very long time and could not remember why I stopped. So I bought some. Mistake. I personally like to fry my hamburger, not boil it. I cooked 2 pounds of hamburger and drained off 3/4 cup of water. And who knows how much water evaporated off too. Yeah, the price looks good, until you realize you are paying that price for water. There should be ZERO water in meat. Gross.
