Wouldn't recommend

Self propel too fast for slight hills and area I planned that my zero turn riding mower can't get to. Uneven cutting of flat spot grass. Liked that it started very easily with position of pull cord. The self propel too fast to control down hilly areas. Not a even cut when mowing slanted area. Very easy to start from position of pull cord.

Helpful Hint??

Sending this as a helpful hint. Was cutting, mulching and ground cover and leaves in yard (3rd or 4th use of mower purchased in Aug. 2020.) After working about 90 minutes, during which I started and stopped the mower 12 or more times to empty the Bag (not the largest;) after dumping a full bag, mower started and mowed about half a bag, the mower died. I tied to restart, nothing. Checked gas, half at least. It was about 90 degrees, but not running continuously. Oil, full, clean. I took mower to garage and sat down. Looked at manual. After about 30 minutes, I tried and it started. Took it back to the area I was working and mowed maybe another bag and mower died. Took it back and rested, it did not start. So, I quit for the day. After dinner I did some research, Mostly in the 1- and 2-Star ratings to see if there was a similar issue. Many but no help. The mower is 8 months old and used less than 5 times so this really was upsetting. I decided to sleep on it. Today, I went back to it in the afternoon. I had decided to give a visual inspection to see if there was something, I had missed. I tried to start it first before I did anything, nothing, not a good sign. Took it to work area. Everything seemed in place, nothing hanging, damaged, missing that I could see. Plug was fine, only thing I removed. Made decision to return for exchange or refund. I realized that Sam's would probably not take it back with gas in it so I drained the gas and returned it to the gas can. Some remained so after a struggle I removed the hose from the tank to the carb and got out all the gas I could. I checked the tank , this is when I noticed a whiteish, gelatinous looking substance gathered around the screen in the tank. I blew the tank out with compressed air it seemed all the substance blew out into the air! I had already decided to take the mower back, But a Voice said, ”give it a try.” I did, it started but with no gas it died. I was not going to refill the tank as draining was a chore. But I remembered a trick I have use to get balky motors to start and run. I soaked a rag with gas and draped it over the air intake with the filter removed. It started and ran fine till the vapor was gone. Since I had reconnected the hose to the carb, I added some of the SAME gas, only strained through a clean cloth. Pulled it started and ran. Repeated the process around 5 or 6 times. Ran fine. No choice but to fill it up and get to work. I had no further issues with the mower. Also, this is 87 Oct. gas with Mechanic in a Bottle added so it is not “bad gas.” IF you purchase this mower, Check The Gas Tank before you fill it!! I really like this mower, especially that one lever adjusts ALL wheels! Time will Tell if I give it 5 stars!!!

Very impressed with mower

This mower is very impressive for the low cost. It was easy to put together. Just the connect the handles with four bolts. Put gas in and two pulls and it started. I like no choke or throttle control to break. I always cut at full throttle so have all the cables. The height adjustment is so easy, just one handle does all four wheels. It rolls so easy that half the time I did not even use the self-propel.

mower blades can't be found

My husband I purchased this mower in the Spring of 2020. It works great. Starts every time I pull the string. However You Can Not but blades off the shelf locally anywhere. And I'm not sure the Yard Force accessory store has the exact blade that comes on the mower when purchased. I've called the MerotecUSA several times today trying to find the “right” blade that fits the mowers adapter. Right now at this point I'm not happy that I can't just go buy a blade anywhere off the shelf. And you can forget buying a universal blade they wont work either.

love this thing

I decided to get a new self propelled mower because my previous mower, while self propelled, still involved a LOT of pushing! This mower literally pulls me and I love it. I push mow about 1/2 an acre and this mower gets the job done easily. The bag holds a lot of grass too. The only downside is that it's really heavy to empty when it's full and it's awkward to put on. It always starts on the first pull and was easy to put together.

Warranty repair problems

Bought this mower back in Feb 2020 and used it all season, but had problems with the self-propel not working sometimes. Bought another belt, and when I went to replace the other one found that both of the plastic pulley wheels were deformed from the heat of the belt and the spring was not even connected to keep pressure on the belt during self-propel mode. Merotec sent me a list of three service places within 40 minutes of my house, but they do not do warranty work of this nature for Merotec. Will have to contact Merotec again. I wish I'd never bought the mower. May have to contact SAM's Club to see if they can help.

had to have it

saw this mower and renewed my membership just so I could get it. Was easy to put 2gether (im not very handy! LOL). What drew me to it was the self-propel, being a small woman in a hilly yard this can come in handy! Would get 5 stars but the self-propel is only one speed. Overall very happy

Self Propel Stopped Working

I used about 3-4 times and it worked OK and now the Self Propel feature does not work. Also agree with others that the design is a bit clunky and you need to be able to keep up with the mower when using self propel. Hoping that I can return to store still since purchase was on 6/1

The mower rocks

I don't know what the fools were doing to give this thing a bad review. 10 minutes to set it up and oil it and gas it. 20 minutes to cut front and back yard, back yard is on a decline so this bad boy made the back yard a breeze. It's not a Honda, but unless I missed something Briggs and Stratton is def worth the money on this one, wish I had bought it sooner, but Sam's had this 50.00 bucks off so it was gamble that paid off.

horrible

Worst lawnmower I've ever bought. Ran great three times the fourth the self propelled quit working and not able to fix. Somewhere in my yard is a spring to hold it together. Called customer service twice and was hung up on. Returned it and bought a Honda. Done.
