Transmission busted after 2 months use

Don't waste your money. Transmission blew after first 2 months of use and it's essentially a push power. Been back and forth with their warranty service for almost 3 weeks and all I've received are two "authorized" service centers that say they are not authorized. Still pushing my mower....Buy quality and don't go cheap. You'll end up paying for it either way.

Will not start

This is my first time actually using the mower. When it was assembled, I tested it then. Now as I cut for about 10 minutes, the mower will not start. I am waiting to see if it is flooded. (I attempted to start at least 7 times). I AM NOT PLEASED!!! I am currently looking at YT for any suggestions.

I regret this purchase

Bought this for the B&S engine and the self drive. It's easy to start and pulls pretty well. It cuts poorly and I can't figure out why. My other problem is it won't take a "universal" blade replacement, the keeper pegs are shaped in a way to take a proprietary blade. Lots of little frustrations with this machine.

Runs good but self propelled mechanism is weak

I bought this mower about a year ago and the self propelled mechanism broke. I took it apart and found the problem the drive pin sheared off there aren't any parts available so I improvised and made a pin out of a drill bit that got me about a month but it broke again very unhappy if you're thinking of getting this mower save that hundred dollars and buy a non self propelled one that's what you'll end up with in the end anyway

Broke within first 30 minutes of use

I really loved every aspect of this mower until about 30 minutes into cutting grass after it had been delivered to my home. Suddenly there was a loud pop and the self-propel mechanism broke. I'm not sure if it was just the belt slipping off or what happened, but my self-propelled mower, in an instant, turned into a push mower. Called Sam's Club and I was told that I could return it to my store, but the gas and oil will need to be drained before returning. I would like to have it replaced, but not sure I want to trust that the next one won't have the same problem.

Not happy

Finally got to open and fill oil and gas. Raining a lot and didn't want to cut grass wet. Well today is the day!! No rain yesterday and today ! Grass dried out.. off we go. Started just like it said it would. One pull,so far so good? Nope got one pass done and it stalled. Now can't get it started:( . Not a mechanic!!! Don't know anything about mowers!! Not happy customer!! So I just wasted my money!! To have this great looking mower take up space and not work!! Book no help doesn't tell me anything

Do not buy

Barley used this mower and it does not start. Also, the warranty is difficult to use as they want to troubleshoot the problem before the company is willing to repair the mower. Stay away, I had this mower for exactly a year and I am extremely disappointed in the service level and performance of the mower.

Helpful Hint??

Sending this as a helpful hint. Was cutting, mulching and ground cover and leaves in yard (3rd or 4th use of mower purchased in Aug. 2020.) After working about 90 minutes, during which I started and stopped the mower 12 or more times to empty the Bag (not the largest;) after dumping a full bag, mower started and mowed about half a bag, the mower died. I tied to restart, nothing. Checked gas, half at least. It was about 90 degrees, but not running continuously. Oil, full, clean. I took mower to garage and sat down. Looked at manual. After about 30 minutes, I tried and it started. Took it back to the area I was working and mowed maybe another bag and mower died. Took it back and rested, it did not start. So, I quit for the day. After dinner I did some research, Mostly in the 1- and 2-Star ratings to see if there was a similar issue. Many but no help. The mower is 8 months old and used less than 5 times so this really was upsetting. I decided to sleep on it. Today, I went back to it in the afternoon. I had decided to give a visual inspection to see if there was something, I had missed. I tried to start it first before I did anything, nothing, not a good sign. Took it to work area. Everything seemed in place, nothing hanging, damaged, missing that I could see. Plug was fine, only thing I removed. Made decision to return for exchange or refund. I realized that Sam's would probably not take it back with gas in it so I drained the gas and returned it to the gas can. Some remained so after a struggle I removed the hose from the tank to the carb and got out all the gas I could. I checked the tank , this is when I noticed a whiteish, gelatinous looking substance gathered around the screen in the tank. I blew the tank out with compressed air it seemed all the substance blew out into the air! I had already decided to take the mower back, But a Voice said, ”give it a try.” I did, it started but with no gas it died. I was not going to refill the tank as draining was a chore. But I remembered a trick I have use to get balky motors to start and run. I soaked a rag with gas and draped it over the air intake with the filter removed. It started and ran fine till the vapor was gone. Since I had reconnected the hose to the carb, I added some of the SAME gas, only strained through a clean cloth. Pulled it started and ran. Repeated the process around 5 or 6 times. Ran fine. No choice but to fill it up and get to work. I had no further issues with the mower. Also, this is 87 Oct. gas with Mechanic in a Bottle added so it is not “bad gas.” IF you purchase this mower, Check The Gas Tank before you fill it!! I really like this mower, especially that one lever adjusts ALL wheels! Time will Tell if I give it 5 stars!!!

You Get What You Pay For (Please read)

This is not to trash the mower, but it is a cheap mower that works, that's it. Briggs & Stratton has a high end motor, and a lower end motor. THIS MOWER HAS A LOW END Briggs& Stratton ENGINE. It is good for a cheap mower, but do not expect many years of service from this unit. And unless you're looking for a jogging partner, find another mower. This unit has one speed, and it is fast. When I pulled the lever for the self propel to kick in, the mower literally stood up like a race horse, and took off ! Ended up cutting the lawn by pushing the mower, which defeats the purpose of purchasing the mower. I can not find a way to adjust the speed on this race horse at all. Finally; if you're spending under $600 for a lawn mower, don't expect to get a great mower, these are only just below average mowers that work. I would return this unit, but I can not find the return policy on the website. This model is okay for someone starting out with a new house and a small budget, but for the seasoned lawn cutter, you will not be pleased at all. There is a reason the mower is priced so low, even Toro has mowers for under $400 which are just cheap mowers that have a few extra frills. I've found that every time I go for the less expensive option, I end up in the financial hole. Take my advice and spend a little more for a quality mower. This one is just below average!
