DON'T GO HOME WITHOUT THESE

It's not that I'm even some kind of major apple nut ... but these are so yummy that I try not to get them every trip but most times they find their way into my cart, and my friends will ask me did you get some of those apple turnovers again ... and I try to buy the longest date I can because it's just me most of the time. The calories are reasonable for what you get and they are fresh and just scrumptious - I promise. And oh the crunchy sugar on the top?? Extra treat.

so good!

been wanting to try these for a while. finally got some for my morning work break snack & love em! so good microwaved & w/a hot cup of coffee. a great buttery flakey crust & a really good raw sugar style topping & a nice portion of apple filling inside. highly recommend. & the price comes out to about 75¢ each. not bad. & they are good size also.

Have always loved apple turnovers...

These turnovers are the best. Great flavor, lots of filling, and love the larger pieces of sugar on top. My parents always bought these when they went to Sam's and got my family started on them too. Apple turnovers are one of my favorites and bring back so many memories from childhood. We buy these when we are craving something sweet and fruity. Perfect addition to breakfast or as a snack.

Only purchase if made today.

Despite the sell by date, if not made today, pastry is soggy, always. Must open container when you get home and leave open, or again soggy. I have purchased in store "on sell by date", soggy and develops green mold within a couple of days. This has happened 3 times to me, so I just look at date made, then walk on buy. Sell by dates must have been determined in a lab, not a store.

This seems to be the norm recently

I recently got these, both me and the rest of my family were horrified. The front two turnovers were fresh and fine. But tonight my husband went to get one, and while eating it was horrified to discover mold. And not a small amount either. It honestly makes me question buying any other baked goods from this store.

Buyers beware, I purchase these a few days ago, as I was eating one of them, I realized I bit on something hard, the first time I just pulled it out and throw away, and then I find a second piece, I put it on the side to analyze, these stuff has real plastic bits on them, I took that piece of plastic, it can be scratched and if press against my skin can bleed me, imagine if it went straight inside of me, I find many more plastic bits on them, and I was going to feed my kids these stuff, either the store do not realize that something went terribly wrong after they make them or whoever made them wickedly place them there, either way, it happened I wish I could post a video here to show you, this is terribly wrong and scare me to death, I will never buy pre-made anything from this store brand anymore, too many wickedness going around these days, protect your family at all cost, learn to make them from home...

Memory of Apple

I would describe the first turnover "memory of apple" with some liquid filling, but no solid apple component. The second one I ate could be called "hint of apple" and had one 1/4"x1/2" apple bit and some liquid filling, In both, approximately 75% of the middle was air and just 25% consisted of filling. The filling is tasty, but the skimpy amount is simply too stingy to buy again. The crust was fresh and tasted okay. My brother-in-law ate one and had a good burp from all the air inside.

Best Apple Pastry I've ever had!

Wow I think these are the best Apple Pastry I've ever had. I been eating them for years here and they are always great! Flakiest things I've ever had too, and every millimeter inside is stuffed with Apple to the very last bite. You just can't find this anywhere else. Great price too since these are huge, i love to cut off a square of cold butter and push it into a hole on the side of the turnover to melt inside. Best cooked in a Dry Fryer so make it ultimate crisp. Can easily fill with Whip Cream too!

Delicious!

I love these apple turnovers. They are light and airy. It's hard to only eat one! Some of my family like them warmed up. I agree, they could have more filling, but I like them anyway. Yes, they do get soggy or "old" if they are not eaten in a couple of days, but they seldom last in our house that long, and that just shows me that they are made of real food. I consider these a real treat.

Verified Purchase

Where's the filling?

These used to be one of our favorite pastries, but there was very little filling in this pack.
