Pets

I actually bought this for my cats to keep them from going to certain parts of my house. Well, my one cat was so small she could get through the bars and my bigger cat could get through the space between the wall/ door frame and the gate. So I bought a trifold poster board to slide through the gate to keep them from getting through. So it still serves its purpose. Bc it's so tall, neither tried to jump it, so far.

Shorter than advertised but fantastic otherwise

So the height of the gate was what was important to me so that we could ensure our cats wouldn’t hop the gate. It’s advertised as 41” tall once assembled, we got the same gate but it’s assembled height is only 36”. We decided to try it anyways and have had a motion sensor camera on it since it’s been set up, so far it still has kept the cats away, they haven’t even attempted to jump over it, so it is working. But I was disappointed that it was 5” shorter than it was supposed to be. As far as the gate itself, it is fantastic. Just be aware that it’s not the height advertised.

Perect for what I needed it for

I got this to keep my newly rescued puppy out of the finished basement. I am happy with the quality and ease of installation. My own fault, but the one I got was not wide enough for my stairway, so I had to make some modifications because the puppy could get through one side. I'm sure as he get bigger it will be fine. This has helped me out so much! Glad I decided to get it.

Good for permanent use, not pressure install

Hate that they put a huge label on it that cant come off that ruins the look. I use just the pressure mounts which are lousy as it coincides with the way in which you extend the screws for the latch so its not tight. Not good for med/big dogs because they can push the top of it and move it and bend the door. Would most likely work a bit better if permanently attached but the weight of metal is still too light and door can bend if pushed hard enough.. Best features are the height and easy installation.

Conains a Rambunctious 3 year Old

My Nephew and his almost 3 yr. old son have come to stay with me until a vaccine for covid is available. (He's high risk). I bought several baby gates, and then tried this one. I like this one the best! He doesn't like being corralled, and he pushes on the gates. He's figured out how to open some of them. He seems to 'respect' this one better. I think part of the reason is that it's taller, and seems more imposing to him. He also hasn't managed to figure out how to open it, unlike the others. I would recommend this gate! It's a good one!

Okay for the price

This gate fell a little short of meeting my expectations, but does the job. It was fairly easy to install and relatively secure, but the addition on the side is not as firm and stable as I had expected. When my toddler grabs the gate it has quite a bit more give than I was anticipating and if I tighten it any more the gate won't open. I do like that it doesn't have to be locked to be closed securely. I imagine when my little boy can actually reach the latch it will have to be locked so I'm glad I picked the tall one!

good, not great

Only reason I purchased this gate was for the height. I am using it to keep one of my very-athletic dogs restricted to a room in the house (she was easily jumping over a shorter gate). My biggest complaint about this gate are: 1. The opening is extremely narrow compared to all the other walk-through gates we have owned. Would prefer a bigger opening. 2. The latching mechanism works but is not as smooth as other gates we have owned. 3. The gate only opens one way. Would prefer it can open in either direction. 4. Not as 'pretty' as our other walk through gates. Our other gates look much nicer, finished, almost decorative. This gate is just a painted hunk of metal. Despite all this gate's shortcomings, it is the only really tall gate I could find, so I'm stuck with it.

Good in the end result

It is nice and tall but the width has only one set of predrilled holes. It can only be a certain thin width or wide width using the extra spacer panel, which we did. The width is also blocked by steel so even if u want to drill your own holes it could only be wider not thinner. The screw in bolt go in the extra spacer panel and they are not threaded on purpose it says but those bolts are way too long. We took a saws all to cut off an inch. The bottom was similar so we just didn’t use the receiver item as it was impossible to get them all in. It is tall and works nicely. There is a bottom tab for locking if you need to do that but you have to manually engage that.

Nice gates, but......

We ordered 2 of these gates. One had obviously been returned and had minor damage and missing parts. The other had a shattered plastic piece. We were able to make a few adjustments ourselves to accommodate these parts and were still able to install the gates. Overall, they are well built and work well, but it would have been nice to receive brand new items without accepting damaged and/or missing parts. Site to store pickup can be convenient as long as the items they ship to your local store are brand new and not returns from other stores. Would have given better ratings if not for the inconvenience and hassle of having to make our own adjustments in order to get them to work.

Overall a good product that works as intended

The overall construction of the gate is very good. Solid and sturdy. Assembly takes about 3 minutes. Instructions look kind of intimidating at first but once you get started they are really simple and on point. One complaint is the space adjusters. The bolts with rubber feet that thread/screw out of the gate frame to take up any extra space between the gate and the wall. They look like they thread into the gate frame, and they should, but that's not how they are designed. The hole in the gate frame for the adjusters is just that, a hole, not threaded. Instead the adjusters, which are long bolts with a rubber foot that goes against the wall, simply fit into a hole in the gate frame, then a plastic adjuster on the bolts, threads against the gate frame and pushes the adjusters out and against the wall. If the adjuster bolts have to be pushed out of the hole in the gate frame more than about an inch, they wobble and move. Not just a little bit, but a significant amount. If your opening requires the adjuster bolts to be threaded out more than that, I would suggest placing a small block of wood between the rubber feet and the wall to help decrease how far out the adjuster bolt sticks out of the gate frame. Once you do that, or if your opening is just wide enough that the adjuster bolts don't have to be threaded out very far, then the gate is nice and solid and sturdy. Super easy opening mechanism with a safety lock to hold it in place if necessary.
