Great, sturdy Play yard

I purchased this for my Granddaughter, and it is being used in the family room, on carpeting, to keep her away from table corners and other things that could hurt her. It gives her plenty of room to move around and play, and she's not stepping on her toys which happens in her pack and play. I also like the fact that you can covert it to a long fence to separate rooms.

So far so good.

I haven't had to actually use it yet so it's not installed yet though it looks like installation will be a piece of cake. I have had it out of the packaging and "played" with it a little bit. Seems nice and sturdy and easy to take pieces apart and make it grow or shrink as needed. The only thing I am disappointed about is there is no adjuster on the ends to unscrew for that extra little bit of space you need as with other baby gates. I don't know what the piece is called but I'm sure you know what I mean if you have experience with baby gates previously. The way it will work in my dining room/living room "doorway" is with the one last piece it'll be a bit big so it'll bow out a bit. As long as it keeps my Siberian Husky away from my baby, and my baby away from the stairs as well as the dog, then I will be happy. It has a nice, clean look to it.

192 inch baby gate

I've searched for months for a baby gate to fit such a big gap in our home. This gate is a lifesaver! Very easy to assemble and take down when guest are over. My son is 10months and the only time he goes over to the gate is when we are on the opposite side and not playing with him. The middle does give a lil going back and forth but if that's the only problem I'm lucky! I'm sure if it was on carpet the gate wouldn't move as much, we have ours on wood flooring. If you don't like the idea of it moving on tile or wood flooring, put a carpet runner under it and you'll be set. So thankful a friend sent me this gate information, as I wish it would have popped up after all my long searches on Craigslist, babies r us, target etc.. Go Walmart! Worried about the white gate not matching your dark furniture, so was I, but the white adds a nice touch :)

Happy with my purchase

I wanted to create a play area for my 9 month old son. After looking at several options on various websites, I found that this was the largest and also cheapest enclosure I could find. I was a bit nervous, because usually you get what you pay for and some reviews were not very nice, but I figure since Walmart has a great return policy, that if it didn't work out it would be easy to return it and get something better. Lucky for me, everything turned out great. The play area is HUGE! My husband and I are trying to decide if we want to take out a panel or not. This thing is so big, it could cut straight across our living room if we wanted it to. This gate is sturdy and I think it will last us beyond when my son will grow out of it (2 years). Once he does, we will probably use it to block off our entertainment center to keep him away from the TV. Few things to note. There are knobs at the corner of each panel, you need to loosen them up before you unfold them or you may break them (I didn't, but I saw a reviewer who said theirs broke). All the parts are interchangeable, it took me awhile to figure out, but all the plastic connectors actually do come completely off, if you want, so that you can add or remove panels. Another thing, I don't know how they can advertise this as a free standing gate. I didn't plan on using it as one, but before I got the mounts screwed in, my 9 month old was able to move it. So, I don't recommend getting this gate if you don't plan to screw it in. Speaking of screws, these screws are terrible, use your own. I have half a screw that broke and lodged into my wall now. They are junk. So, in summary: Pros Big area Tall Sturdy Durable Cons Moderately difficult to figure out how to add and remove panels, but it can be done Not really good as a free standing barrier Cheap screws (use your own)

Danger to kids if used

This is the worst baby gate I have ever used. All of the connectors are made from cheap plastic that are easily broken. We submitted pictures of the defect to the manufacturer of the gate, they sent us replacement connectors made out of the same cheap plastic. If you have kids that attempt to lean on the gate at all thereport is a pretty good chance they will fall with the gate when the connectors break. Luckily I caught my son in time before he got hurt. This product is a complete waste of money and should be considered a danger to kids if used.

"I'm free!"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My six month old just started crawling, we used this 4-in-1 Super Wide Baby Gate and Play Yard to cordon off our entire living room! He gets to crawl around to his hearts content and I get some piece of mind! It's a complete win win. Set up was a breeze and it's so secure!

Puppy Training

We ordered this gate online received our 1st shipment broken. WalMart did an excellent job of sending out a new one ASAP while we returned the broken one free of charge (kind of a pain to mail). When the 2nd one arrived, in a timely manner, it was intact. The gate is somewhat flimsy as I think a child throwing a temper tantrum might be able to wiggly it but it is definitely functional for the price. If you do purchase the product, make sure to be extra careful when opening, closing or shaping a playard. The knobs at the top need to have the teeth aligned properly or else it doesn't work. Also, the plastic which holds the panel to the knob is not the strongest so if it is any bit angled and pressure is applied those pieces snap.

Good product for the price

Our 11-month old is very strong, so we needed a gate that was of very sturdy construction. Lo and behold we found this gem and for a great price. Now our baby can safely play in our family room with no worries. I'd recommend this to product to all parents with infants and toddlers.

Best gated play yard

I can't be more pleased about this purchase... I love the fact it comes with hardware and ready to attach to a wall.. I was able to put this from wall to wall creating a big enclosed space for my child to play, run and just make a mess with all her toys :) you can easily make this a self standing roundish play yard. I did purchase some sticky squares and place them on the bottom of the play yard sections to avoid my child from sliding them since I placed them on a tiled floor. It is high enough for a two year old and sturdy enough to endure continue shaking.. By your child.. :)

Works for pets too!

I bought this item to use as an outside gate since buying a permanent one cost $1000. I only set it up early spring-late fall when little chance of snow accumulation in New York. It worked great keeping my little dog in the yard yet giving access to leave. The same pens for pets having a dogie door too were more expensive at the time. Only problem is the plastic connections don't hold up well to the elements. I did squeeze 3 years out of it but connection zip ties when the plastic connections broke.
