The chairs are comfortable and hold weight well. Over time, however, the brown finish of the material the chair is made of began to create a rust colored powdery stain on the clothing and skin of anyone sitting in the chair. The finish began coming off onto our clothing. From the naked eye the chairs look fine. It isn't until you run hour hand, your clothing, your wet swim suit, a towel…anything across it- it's a slightly gritty texture like dust or dirt. Or, sit on them. But it's actually the chair itself. Pretty frustrating for the price we paid for what we thought was a “Lifetime” purchase. I remember reading when we purchased them they were able to be repainted- but from what I've read it looks like it isn't recommended.

Definitely a returned item. Chair visibly used, with a bit of scratches. Assembly was easy though. Was lazy to return because of COV-19; but this purchase has diminished my trust in buying furniture online with Sam’s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first Adirondack Chair that I own that isn't made of plastic, and I am quite pleased with the quality of the materials, the overall color (gray), and how comfortable it is to sit in. Over the years I have cracked many plastic patio chairs due to my weight, but this chair seems really heavy duty and durable. I had a little struggle with the assembly (the 4 star rating) where the final two screws on the arm rests wouldn't line up correctly, so I ended up having to loosen 9 screws in order to get enough play to align the final two and then had to re-tighten everything back up. The assembly also took a lot longer than expected (with my big hands, the supplied allen wrench was tough to get into certain spots so I would recommend using a ratcheting screwdriver), but overall the finished product turned out really nice. I was really impressed how the chair came packaged to avoid any damage during shipment. The instructions for assembly were simple and easy to follow. The arm rests are nice and wide making a great area to set down a plate or drink while barbecuing. Now I just need a matching foot rest. Overall I am well pleased with this product and excited to see how well it holds up to plenty of use during the summer. Its definitely a nice addition to my collection of patio furniture.

The chairs are very comfortable and sturdy. The material should hold up well in the elements as well. The only negative is with assembling them. The screws that are included with the chairs were an absolute nightmare. I ended up going to Lowes and finding a Phillips head screw to replace the Allen head screws that came with the chair. Lifetime should think about doing the same.

I bought this after reading reviews that mostly were favorable. The only problem people reported was the assembly. I agree. I am a 61 year old single woman but I did it all by myself. No tools except the hex key provided and my willingness to read the instructions. Yes, it is cumbersome and I was laying on my back with a flashlight in my mouth at one point trying to line up holes. Granted, the instructions say two people are needed. I'm stubborn. I did learn half way through to pre drill the holes by using the screw provided with the hex key. And DO NOT tighten the screws until the very end, except for the two slats on the back. The only way you can line the holes up is by not screwing tightly. That will come at the end. I had one screw that refused to line up until I had screwed everything in tightly then the final screw went right in. I would say the quality control could certainly do a better job by giving bigger holes to work with. The instructions were basically well written. If you are up for a bit of a challenge it is a good chair and I do hope it lives up to its name: LIFETIME! Because even though I like a challenge I can find other things to do.

High quality chair that will last. We had previously purchased 2 of these several years ago in brown. Added a new fire pit last fall and wanted to upgrade from the fold up chairs we had been using. Bought 2 more of these in gray (we were worried they might be close but not quite a match with new and 6 year old brown chairs, so went with deliberate contrast), so now only need the fold-up chairs for more than 4 at the pit. Assembly will take about 20 minutes - tools are included (hex wrench), and if you have a drill things go much faster. Unfortunately, the "straight" hex driver is not great quality and was stripped after only about half of the assembly was complete, but found a better one in my tool box. You will need to attach the 2 outside back slats, front and rear legs, and a couple of cross supports (all of the seat slats and most of the back slats are pre-attached). Completely satisfied with the assembled product and expect these to also last for many years.

YOU have to assembly them !!!! This is ok if you are a handy man as it requires the "RIGHT" tools which are not included......what they give you to use, is a joke. The tiny wholes to drill are really tiny but when the chairs are finished they are really worth the price.....good all weather product. We are pleased with them.

We bought 2 chairs, 2 ottomans and a table. We were so excited to get them. Husband put one chair and one ottoman together. I sat down and realized the wood is more smooth than what I thought we were purchasing. I got up and there were stains on the arms. My skin was not wet and I wasn’t sweating. Tried wiping it off and let it sit for a bit hoping it would fade. It did not. We took them apart and returned to the store. Disappointed for sure.

These chairs are beautiful and sturdy. Putting them together is the issue we had with these. Many of the holes were not properly drilled and required me to drill them deeper. Not doing so caused one of the holes to crack and the screw to strip. No extra screws are included for such issues. And just to include, yes, I did read and follow all instructions regarding assembly of the chairs. We would recommend these chairs as long as you don’t expect to put them together quickly/easily.

I bought two chairs and both had broken pieces in the box. Lifetime is sending me two more.
