Each one is different!

This generator is identical to two others I purchased last year. They all operate well, especially after you get used to adding gasoline and changing the oil. This one doesn't always start the first attempt, and unlike my other two, does not sound much different when in choke or run. However, as long as it starts and runs a reasonable length of time, it does the job. On all three, the display of time remaining goes down to F00 about an hour before it runs out of gasoline.

Awesome little unit!

First impressions were that this igen 2500 is a great lightweight compact generator to be mobile with. I’ve used it a handful of times camping and it’s been great to power up my campers appliances. Can’t speak for long term but as of right now I Would buy again.

iGen2500 review

Adding the oil is fine, however the ability to measure the oil level is very poor. The 30degree access angle with measure stick makes the measurement inaccurate - false reading. I recommend the oil access be extend to point upwards, and a smooth stick be extended to measure where the oil level should be. I just received the unit. It started easily. Besides taking multiple attempts to ensure I was not adding too much the unit seems good so far.

Glad To Get One!

I have been wanting this particular model for quite a while and finally got one. The main purpose is to keep a refrigerator going plus smaller appliances during a power outage since we can be affected by tornadoes or aftermath of a hurricane (far inland but not quite far enough) as well as for RV camping. So far I am pleased with the product and hope to keep it running for a number of years.

Best Bang for Your Buck

If you want to have that peace of mind you've always wanted while scamming generators your entire life and wondering what you might need, might want, must-have, etc., You can finally pull the trigger and go with this unit, no degree necessary, easy to set up, cranked up third pull, immediately took loads (portable heater and floor fan with 6 cycles). Little motor draw but quickly compensated for the load required to maintain amperage warranted to support the high draw. A must-have multi-purpose power source for your home, boat, or RV.

I love my iGen 2500 inverter/generator.

I could not believe how easy it is to start. It is small enough to move around easily yet produce all the power for any home emergency caused by a power outage. The Digital Data Center is a big plus and easy to read which lets me keep up with what's going on with the unit

Good option for house backup (one 20Acircuit only)

I bought this to run critical loads for the house during power outages. I finally got around to running a full load test today and it worked just as expected. I just added oil and gas and it started right up. I then connected loads one by one. Of course you have to look at the loads you want to connect, running and start-up, and get a generator of the right size, but I was able to run my furnace, hot water heater, sump pump, full size refrigerator, and computer/internet/wifi all at the same time. I also took the time to install a dedicated generator circuit in the basement so that I can just plug the generator into one spot, then connect extension cords to those receptacles (see photos, very convenient). I used a Reliance Transfer Switch TW151 for the furnace circuit connection (see separate review for that, easy install). You should have an electrician do any wiring and install the transfer switch if you use one of course! It's pretty quiet, but that was not a big concern for me. The eco mode works: the motor ramps up and down depending on the load. I also like the info panel where you can toggle between power output in kW, fuel level, runtime remaining, and voltage. I didn't think I'd use that but it is pretty neat. This is the first I've started it up so can't speak to longevity or reliability but so far, so good.

Great for boondocking

Just bought this as a backup when boondocking. We have solar panels to charge the batteries on the trailer, but I wanted a backup. Planning a trip this month and it may still be hot so after break-in I tried running the A/C while on generator and it worked just fine!

Unbelievable!!

I purchased this generator 6 months ago for home backup. I called an electrician to install a transfer panel so I could plug this unit into the an outlet in my garage and run power to 10 different circuits in the house thinking I would have the ability to power some parts of the house and switch power as needed to other areas. After getting the panel and outlet installed we then tested this generator to see how much it could power and for how long. We began by turning on all 10 wired circuits. That includes the furnace, hot water heater, freezer refrigerator, tv, dishwasher, and all lights in the wired rooms. much to my delight this generator powered it all! Did not have to turn off any circuits. The only time the generator was stressed is when we ran the microwave for a minute. The digital display said that we could run all these circuits for 6-7 seven hours on a gallon of gas. The electrician was so impressed he is getting one for his house. The unit is also reasonable quiet as well. Needless to say I am more than impressed!

Runs well

Purchased the generator in December. Need to warm it up inside on cold days but once it gets going runs really well. We have had a little problem with the cap not venting properly and the generator shutting off, so have to leave the gas cap a bit loose to prevent that.
