Ready for the Road

Bought for my camper. This little generator will power the A/C when I decide to camp off the grid. Hooked up to portable A/C from house and it ran perfectly at only 50% power, leaving me plenty of household appliances to run. Vey proud of this little generator. Not only can it be used for tailgating, boon docking, and on the pontoon boat, perfect back up to keep all refridgerators and freezers ice cool when the power goes out. Most small generators only have 15A recepticles, this one has 20A recepticles which will allow you to operate so much more. Great Choice for a generator!

Great value, nice features.

I bought this as a backup to a famous red generator that I already own, and like it because of the higher output capacity. The feature set is good. The generator is now broken in and prepped for storage, so while I can't make a side-by-side comparison, I do think that it is a little bit louder than the red one. But certainly not by much. My spark plug was good (and a pull after break-in reveals that everything is good in the combustion chamber) and my fuel tank was perfectly clean. I would have been upset if it looked like the one I saw in the photo in the other review. I've noticed that the button to cycle through the display is a little bit bouncy and can take you to the second next display instead of to the next display. No biggie. The one thing that bothers me a little bit is the way the engine runs. It starts right up with no trouble, but it has a tendency to hiccup a smidge. It runs, but also acts as if there's a microscopic interruption in fuel/spark/something and you can see the entire unit twist ever so slightly when it does this. It's like, "purrrrrrrrrr bleh-purrrrrrrrrr bleh-purrrrrrrrr...." I'm not sure if this is normal or not. It's very minor and it certainly doesn't prevent the generator from doing what it is supposed to do. Maybe the folks here at Westinghouse have some insight into this and can make suggestions. Anyway, ultimately only time will tell, but so far, I am pleased.

Great

I bought this in case of a prolonged power outage to power my freezer and fridge. I haven't had to use it yet but setup was easy. It's fairly quiet, we could carry on a conversation while standing right next to it. I'm almost looking forward to an excuse to use it!

sips gas, easy start

Bought a month ago. The case was cracked due to rough shipping so I called customer service. The pleasant representative offered me three options for repair. Send out a new unit, send me a new case half or have a local shop repair it for me. I chose the new case half and it arrived in under a week. I swapped it out and all is great. The iGen2500 usually starts with the first pull and powers everything on my camper except the A/C (and it will run that after I install a soft start). It uses about a quart of gas an hour under 1/2 load.

Fuel Efficient, Easy to Use, Powerful

I've been using the iGen2500 for a month now. We lost power due to a hurricane and this unit has been a life saver. We can easily run the fridge, TV, a few fans, computer, charge phones, and other misc. appliances without worry. It's super fuel efficient too. One tank goes a long way.

Best value

I have friends that have Westinghouse generators and like them so I thought I would check them out. I research the daylights out of anything I purchase. And am I glad I did. I compared them to the yellow and orange brands along with some I never herd of before. I specifically wanted a 2500 watt unit. So comparing the 2500 surge watts to running watts the Westinghouse was the winner. It has a larger CC engine compared to most and that larger engine ran at a lower speed (RPM). These in my mind means longer more reliable life. I like the data center ( which most don't have) so I can monitor its health and performance Got it home filled it with oil and gas read the operators manual and started it up. It was a 28deg. day so it took 3 pulls but it started with authority and ran perfectly when warm. I did the break in procedure and now I cant wait to power up the camper. So far I am very happy with my decision.

AWESOME GENERATOR,AWESOME WARANTY !

These are some of the best generators I have owned, and Westinghouse is a great company to work with. When I had a problem Westinghouse treated me very well, went above and beyond with their warranty. This i2500 generator has so much power ! Everyone should own one. We love it ! Dan C.

iGen2500 First Impression

Long time Yamaha owner. Read many reviews on this prior to purchase. Unit came on time and packaged with eveything needed except gas. Added included oil, gas and fired it up. Runs quiet and produces adequate power for our RV. Nice unit for the money. Time will tell if it turns out to be as reliable as the Yamaha, but so far its on par with the top tier brands.

Great!, but no cover.....?

Bought to take camping with our R.V.- it runs great, is powerful enough to run the air conditioner or the microwave, is extremely quiet, and light enough to be very portable! My only complaint is that it seems to have a slight sputter while running- even with no load on it. That being said, it hasn't posed a problem yet!

Quiet sets up starts easily reliable

Have operated extensively as emergency b.u. at elevation up to 2k ft. Prefer over the igen2200 which is same size 46 lb weight for its digital data center, 98 cc engine, 18.3 A run 20.8 A motor starting. Economy mode works well idling down as it should and kicking up momentarilly when fridge compressor kicks in. Arrived well packaged and ready to gen in minutes with incl 0.4 qt premeasured oil and fill kit. Starts no effort first pull. Before storing I run it dry on E90 then add a pint of True Fuel and run it dry again. No fumes notice when stored but of course never run inside. May vapor lock if cap is on tight.
