Solid Build and Quiet

After putting in the oil and gas, I gave the cord an easy pull just to get a feel for it, and was surprised when it started...first pull. I plugged in an 1850 watt hairdryer and everything seems to be functioning perfectly. The build seems solid and the generator is very quiet in comparison to my conventional generator. I feel confident it will meet my needs when emergency power is needed.

Recommended Generator Choice

I purchased the IGen2500 generator a month ago after much research into generator options based on features, quality, value and capability, for my needs it was without question the right choice. In addition to having the level of output it is well made, and has an excellent information display panel that clearly gives you everything you could want to know about the operational status of the generator. I was so impressed I recommended it to a friend who has also purchased this same generator and is equally impressed. The generator is very easy to start and started on the second pull after set up. It is also very quiet and and quite easy to carry from location to location. I think its a great generator and a good buy.

Just buy it!

I purchased 2 of these for my 5th wheel camper. They were on sale for $399 each at Sam's Club. So, after reading some reviews I decided to purchase. First of all they do not require the proprietary Westinghouse cable to parallel connect. Any parallel connect kit for portable inverter generators will work. I got the WEN 50amp (rated for 6000watts) kit since it had a 50amp receptacle which my camper would plug directly into. I have yet to see if these will power both AC units; if not I will install soft start kits on my AC units. This Westinghouse generator appears to be robustly constructed. It was packaged extremely well. Add oil, add gasoline, run it and enjoy the smooth power. It started after 2 pulls. I'm not sure why the manual states when running in eco mode it is recommended to only run small loads. In eco mode I plugged a blow dryer in and the generator throttled right up to maximum RPM and showed 75% load, which was the same % shown in non eco mode. The only thing that occurred is that when I loaded it all at once in eco mode it stalled out. It just didn't supply fuel fast enough and stalled. I had to choke it and pull 3 times to get her going again. I am extremely satisfied with this generator and its performance. Just a suggestion: lubricate the 3 posts on the cover before reinstalling it after adding the oil. They fit pretty tight and I worry they will break away from the cover at some point. Alternately you could shave a little bit of plastic off the post's barb. Oh yeah, I read a review where someone was concerned about the wire type fuel clamps. Don't worry, they are the same as on lawn mowers and they work fine, last forever and don't damage the fuel line.

Quiet, portable, powerful

This was a great purchase. We have used it for the marching band when they travel to run all sorts of things such as lights, crock pots, fans. It is quiet enough that it doesn't disturb band warm-ups, small enough to tuck into the trailer, and powerful enough to run several things at once. Glad we did this.

Great build, easy start

I spent a lot of time reviewing inverter generators before settling on a pair of these. I have been using a single EU2000i and it's great and I was going to pair it with a new EU2200i Companion. But I like the additional features of the iGen series and the higher wattage. I read through hundreds of reviews that convinced me it was worth going this route. I will post updates as I use the units and get more experience.

Excellent Portability

After researching on portable generators for over 3 months, every brand, I selected the westinghouse igen 2500. I compared weight, fuel consumption, noise level, and portability. Bottom line, this beats all in combination of my requirements. Super buy, super performance, noise levels was surprising once I hit the efficiency button. Used it over a month with small lapses. Running simultaneously refrigerator, lamp, fan and a coffee maker with barely 50% of power. Love it!

Great features and very quiet

So far, I’m very impressed with the noise level and digital data center. It starts easy and I like the portability. The spark plug access cover seems a tad loose, but with use I expect it to snug right up. Overall, I’m very pleased and look forward to many years of use.

Very Pleased So Far

I purchased 2 of the igen2500 generators for back up power. I haven’t needed either so far, but I have started and broke in both generators via the instructions. Both have performed as expected so far. Because of the few review complaints of broken spark plugs and dirty fuel tanks, I thoroughly inspected both generators before starting and found no problems with either generator. Both started within a few pulls and easily handled the varying loads I used for break in. I especially liked the fuel level, run time and load features built into the electronic panel.

Great portable generator

I purchased this generator to use for camping and as a backup for the Florida hurricane season. It took me about six weeks to finally pull it out of the box, but today, hurricane Ivan is about to hit Florida. I unpack the generator, fill up the oil as provided, along with the funnel provided, I put some gas in it, pulled the cord one time and it fired right up. It runs perfectly and powered two portable air conditioners. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
