If I were to sum it up: the Westinghouse iGen 2800c is a very solid choice for someone who wants reliable backup power for essential appliances, needs something quiet and portable, and values efficiency and safety features. For its size, weight, and what it offers, it gives strong bang for the buck. If your needs are modest-to-moderate, it’s hard to go wrong with this one.

Bought this last November for our seasonal business in September and October. Pulled it out and used non ethanol gas only. Would run then quit, run then quit. Would drain bowl and go again. Has always been unreliable on the start. 2 days ago started and ran a few minutes then died. Could not restart to the point the pull cord busted. Really? I’ve been using this thing 2 months even though I bought it on special last November. Be careful of the ‘special’ pricing. There’s a reason it’s marked way down. I called Sam’s about a return and they said it was past the 90 days and I’m stuck with trying to get it fixed now. Do yourself a favor and buy a Honda. I would like a refund for this faulty unit. If Sam’s will honor my request, please contact me. This unit is not a good one.

Not overall happy with the generator because the generator has an open ground circuit, I found this when I tested the generator with standard 30 amp and 110 receptacle tester both showed open circuits and grounds (The generator would not power a 2023 motorhome). When I called the Westinghouse support team they recommended I purchase ground neutral plug. My question is why was the generator not correctly wired originally so the ground neutral plug is not required. Or if the plug is required to use the 30 amp receptacle why was it not included with the generator. Also when using the ground neutral plug this takes up one of the 110 receptacles, reducing the generator to ONE 110 receptible. Generator does work with the ground neutral plug installed.

My uncle got this generator for us awhile back and I didn't think we really needed it. Boy was I wrong. We recently had a power outage and we would have lost all our grocery's without it. It was super easy to set up and didn't take long before we had access to power.

I bought this about a month ago and I'm really glad I did. I love the fact that it had the dual fuel option, which was the sale point for me. I'm totally convinced that most problems that people have with this generator is because of operator malfunction. Having said that some of the information that you are looking for you REALLY have to read the manual to find it. It could be written better.

Have only used this briefly so far but looking forward to using this a lot more in the near future. Thus unit works great and runs everything in my camper, even the ac unit, very pleased. The Dual fuel is awesome it eliminates the need to carry gasoline I can run this on the propane that I already have on the camper.

I just bought this generator and I have not had the opportunity to run it yet. However, after a lot of research and reading many reviews at least at this point upon inspection at the store, my unit appears to be complete, in tact, no damage and all manuals and paperwork in place. I inspected the spark plug and carburetor visually as these were items receiving a lot of negative reviews. I will update this review after the break in exercise.

Very satisfied with the generator

I would be happy to rate the Westinghouse i Gen 2500 if it ever shows up at my door !

Good for the price & works great. Also made in USA not China.
