Not Quite Enough Umph!

Iv'e for years now used a good old Champion 4000 for my RV. Every year it gets heavier (108 lbs dry) and a little louder. After watching countless Youtube videos on smaller inverter generators, I decided on the iGen2500. Several showed it running 15,000 BTU AC with no problem. Tried it out at home before leaving for a Boondock trip and it started the AC but really pulled the generator down. After about 3 minutes it overloads the generator and you must reset it. It has a hard time runing the microwave, a couple of lights and the TV at the same time. If you want to run your AC and anything else at the same time, you are going to need two units in parallel. Have to get use to a one gallon gas tank too. With a 60-70% load which I was runing a lot of the time you only get about 5 hours on the tank. So, I'm going to purchase another one to run in parallel and then do another review.

We're so glad to hear you're getting the chance to try out another iGen2500! Using two generators in tandem will definitely bring more than enough power and peace of mind for all the appliances that you want to use. Because the microwave requires high starting watts, it's important to keep that in mind as your AC cycles on and off. We'll be happy to help you at info@wpowereq.com if you have any questions or concerns about your generator! Thank you!

Great inverter!

Seems great so far! Just received and got oil and gas put in and fired it up. I like that this takes 87-93 octane gas lot easier than a big generator only taking a specific type. Definitely recommend if you have power outages or seems like it'd be good for RV. Its very portable unlike the big generators.

Terrible from the start

Bought this last November for our seasonal business in September and October. Pulled it out and used non ethanol gas only. Would run then quit, run then quit. Would drain bowl and go again. Has always been unreliable on the start. 2 days ago started and ran a few minutes then died. Could not restart to the point the pull cord busted. Really? I’ve been using this thing 2 months even though I bought it on special last November. Be careful of the ‘special’ pricing. There’s a reason it’s marked way down. I called Sam’s about a return and they said it was past the 90 days and I’m stuck with trying to get it fixed now. Do yourself a favor and buy a Honda. I would like a refund for this faulty unit. If Sam’s will honor my request, please contact me. This unit is not a good one.

More Power Than Expected

This generator far exceeds my expectations! Ran it through two break in runs. Starts up after 1 or 2 pulls. Ran 2 refrigerators, a dehumidifier, a few fans and wifi and never went over 50% usage! Highly recommend for the many power outages here in Ohio!

Very easy setup, difficult to get the bonus gift

Very clear and easy to follow setup and maintenance instructions. I haven't really put it to the test yet but seems good. very difficult to do a review after warranty registration on the website, when you click it bounces you to an error page. I suggest fixing that issue so customers don't have to search to do a review to get the bonus gift. I'll update the performance once I put it to the test.

Good Unit

If I were to sum it up: the Westinghouse iGen 2800c is a very solid choice for someone who wants reliable backup power for essential appliances, needs something quiet and portable, and values efficiency and safety features. For its size, weight, and what it offers, it gives strong bang for the buck. If your needs are modest-to-moderate, it’s hard to go wrong with this one.

Easy to start and easy to use

I bought iGen2800c inverter generator a week ago in case the long hours of power outage again to help preserve my freezer meat and refrigerator food. I just add the oil that came with it and add a little gas to give it try. It is very easy to start and easy to use. The power is more than enough for both my freezer and my refrigerator. I plugged in 1000 watts microwave, and it is also fine.

Great Price, Works Well

I recently bought an iGen 2800. I'm in the middle of the break in period and so far so good.I'm not real happy that the cover needs to be removed to check the oil level. I'm hoping the screws holding the cover don't eventually strip out. Minor annoyance for an otherwise great product.

powerful, stable and quiet, in that order

Electrical current was constant and stable, very efficient machine. Dont kid your self though, although quieter than most this is a still a gasoline engine with a plastic chassis, you can hear it. We used for tailgating and put at the front of the car, never though about it a second time. unfortunately mine came with a broken/split spark plug cable, I fixed it myself for use on gameday but i will be submitting a warranty claim to get the proper part swapped in, we will see how that goes.

Portability and CO2 sensor

Happy I purchased the iGen2800c. I like the portability and the fact that I can move it about. With hurricane season upon us, I will use this generator to keep my freezer and refrigerator running along with a fan or two. I do like that there 2 phone charger ports as well.
