Haven't used it on the road yet, but I am VERY impressed with out quiet the unit operates. Looks like Westinghouse made some updates to the new model I got, start button is moved above the 30 amp rv plug in and a few other things. Hopefully this means all the bugs were taken care of in the gen 1 model. Cant wait to use boondocking!

I bought this generator, and have installed in our race car trailer. It runs everything from air compressor, lights, fridge and induction hot plate. The key fob works great. Except if you leave the master switch on, for a while it will drain the battery. To solve this problem. I have relocated the master switch to the front on the work bench. Now when I need the generator I turn on the switch and push on, on the remote. When finished using the generator I simply turn off the main power.

This is my third Igen4500df the first one was recalled for a carburetor problem second one burned up when my storage unit cought fire and I am hoping third one is the charm. The Igen4500df is quiet easy to start fairly portable and very fuel efficient great generator.

It didn't take long to see the advantages this unit offers. My first impression was how quieter this unit is over my old open unit generator without sacrificing with a weight gain. Another perk is that it runs my travel trailer AC on its own without being assisted by an inline piggyback. I always had to boost my old unit that had the same rating. The remote is a feature that is going to spoil me. I can operate the whole unit without leaving the couch. What more could one ask for?

Followed the manual for battery, oil and fuel setup. Started and it ran rough. Not wanting to tinker with a new device, I called customer support 7 days ago, haven't heard anything back. Rough running in their manual could be too much oil or lack of a high altitude kit. Then I read the comments...and lo and behold the electric choke cable was the culprit. You don't have to take the side off to see if yours is loose or like mine bent off the pins. You can look in the vent holes beneath the pull cord with a flashlight and see if yours is off or bent. I removed the bolts around the side, and the screws along the front and back faceplates, note* there is one underneath the rubber around the gas cap, those are all under little rubber caps. The pull cord stays in place and the panel can be moved to see what you are doing. Reconnected the plug for the choke, hot glued it in place and put it back together. It functions fine now.

I just unboxed this and it is very nice in most every way. Only complaint, and it is a small one, is that with the screw in funnel it was impossible to know that the engine was over full of oil. I unscrewed the funnel and the excess came running out.

Generator was bought to power hunting camper and also use for backup power during hurricane power outages. It was really easy to get the generator running after receiving unit. Just add the included oil, gas and plug in battery connector. It cranked up first try and was a lot quieter than my old generator. I also like the echo mode for when not needing much power will save on gas. This is a solid generator.

Took the generator out of box added the oil and gas and connected the battery. Turned the generator on and gas started leaking. Took panels off and the gas line from tank to carburetor was torn almost in half next to the gas tank. Cut bad part out and reconnected. Can not get the 30amp to feed the shop as back up power. after hooking up to the panel and locking out main power and switching to generator with all breakers of it goes straight to overload.

Purchased this generator about a month ago to use primarily for camping, started it yesterday for a small test run, if that is any indication of future performance, this is a super product. It ran very smooth and quiet...time will tell but I'm very optimistic.

Having done lots of on-line searching and comparing, iGen4500 came out on top of my list for brand and model. It appears to be of sturdy build, works (almost) as advertised, and has some great extra features. Sadly, they have still not fixed the choke issue, nor the illuminated power-on switch. And just to nit-pick, they should have spared a couple more inches to the battery connect wire. Old, arthritic fingers can barely get into the limited space. And the hold-down for the battery strap clip isn't notched enough (molded plastic flaw), the clip doesn't stay firm. Again, not really complaining, just mentioning. On the cool side; The Amazon ad didn't even showcase the retractable pull bar! Completely out of the way until needed, pulls out like a suitcase on wheels. The oil service funnel screws into the oil fill port preventing spillage. There's enough space in the battery area to store the funnel, rag, spark plug wrench, etc, and an extra bottle of oil. Gotta love the control panel. Digital read-out gives more info than others, and all info is useful. (Voltage, Load %, Watts, Fuel level, Remaining run time, and Total hours. Now we'll see how well it holds up. Again, I'm very happy with it so far. I'm looking forward to Westinghouse's fix or at least workarounds for the choke and ignition light.
